I’m not sure that ITV and Channel 4 are supported by the Licence feeLumley or the Wests too, all doing World trips of a life time on our dollar.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
And now to cap it all the Beeb’s political mouthpiece Nick Robinson has apparently lodged an objection to Ofcom over the proposed GB news channel, likening it it to a British version of Fox News, even before it has broadcast a single episode;
Is this another ‘Maitlis moment’ for a supposedly ‘impartial’ reporter?
Hopefully when the new bod takes over at the Beeb helm his much touted ban on this sort of crap will show results?

Possibly sometime 2021 but meanwhile here’s some more info for you to get yer teeth into and continue the tradition of shooting the messenger regardless of the message content;

And more on the wicked evil folks behind this devious devilish plot to mislead the peasants yet again;

Was the 'messenger' BoJo (pass me my pistol) or some US guy? I got a bit lost there.

Read the links, you’ll then know as much as I know.
I suspect BoJo is too busy with big politics things to mess about with a Beeb alternative, unless he’s angling for a job with them after he resigns next year as is rumoured?
Anyway, bearing in mind your “Laquer Crew”, I presume you’ll be keeping up with current developments on Channel4 @ 10pm tonight?!

Re: The disgraceful BBC
This is not a very balanced article on the challenges facing the new Beeb gaffer by one of the existing staffers who obviously was trying not to step on the toes of the existing senior management lurking in their offices ‘twixt himself and the D-G level.
There are a few mealy-mouthed phrases under the heading of ‘Trust’ but he skilfully avoids the elephant in W1A on the lack of impartiality and obvious Lefty anti-Brexit ‘woke’ BLM bias which has probably sealed the fate of Auntie Beeb forever.
There was a stress on the Asian aspect of the Beeb’s output which cannot be anything connected with this item’s author;
Tim Davie's hellish new job as BBC director general https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-52938188
If this is a signal of the future output of the Beeb, then they might as well switch off the transmitters, save energy and go home and apply to work for the Grauniad, for which they are eminently qualified.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
I heard the suspicious object found in the a/c bog was that rare item in the 21st Century, to wit, one mobile phone.
How much did that QRA spectacle cost, were the Typhoons armed with live missiles & was what's left of the RAF just itching for a 'Q' launch to get the hours up?
I'm surprised they didn't launch as well to intercept the plague-ridden Tui flight from Zante to Taffland, just in case the aircraft was steered into the HoC by a crazed crew.
The madness continues...

Don't forget the achievement of finding two Tiffy growbag occupants who have not (presumably) been to a Truckie party in Akrotiri. There is hope yet.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
But in getting rid of "left-wing comedy", will they not still attract the opprobrium of some of the masses?
Better just balance it up with some right-wing comedians, of whom a speaker on Radio4 could only name one, viz Geoff Norcott.
Here's a sample to cheer up those of us who've yearned for some balance;

Re: The disgraceful BBC
In reversing their decision about the playing of 'Rule Britannia' and 'Land of Hope and Glory', the BBC has stated that we are free to sing along in our own homes. How very patronising of them, the arrogant 2@ts.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

Re: The disgraceful BBC
Chi Chi Nwanoku was born in London, has received an education in England, has had her health looked after by the NHS and enjoyed the freedoms of a multi cultural democracy. If that isn't what she wants I can only recommend that she goes to live in the Congo. It isn't our fault that she doesn't like living here.Those arguing that songs like Land of Hope and Glory shouldn't be performed included Chi-chi Nwanoku, who runs the Chineke! Orchestra, which performed at the Proms in 2017 and 2019.
She told the BBC: "We find it offensive. For any conscious black person who is aware of their history, the empire and colonialism, for example, they will struggle to enjoy the patriotic jingoism of these songs."
