The cost of a TV license is less than £3 per week, if you get to the age of 75 and can’t budget for that, how are you going to pay for your NHS treatment when it’s privatised?

More like it's a choice between one or the other. As a T2A in the GPO, I drove detector vans for a couple of weeks. None of the equipment ever worked. It was the sight of those rooftop mounted plane antenna on top of the vans that panicked people.

Woody, I see you are out of step with public opinion. Even BBC stars are protesting.

For BBC stars, the licence fee is wholly tax-deductible. I know 'cos I'm very closely related to one.

I intensely dislike the use of the word 'stars' in this context. As with 'personality' and 'celebrity' it is grossly overused and applied to people who are no different to, or better than, anyone else, they just happen to have a job which involves being seen in public.

It is nauseating.

The PM is asking the BBC to justify itself now, pointing out the show with Brand in it was prerecorded, and so production staff are under the microscope now also.
Good.

The Metropolitan Police are assessing the programme following an allegation of incitement to violence.

Unfortunately I feel it unlikely that they will take any action against that potty-mouthed old harridan. There will be some mealy mouthed statement along the lines of 'the comment was unwise but within the context it is clear it was not meant to incite violence' and that will be the end of it, rather than the end of her.

That was their argument yesterday, and I'm sure the PM will have been advised of it before she made her comments. The point about prerecorded is, I'm sure, carefully made - she is going after the producers here, who do not have the popularity that Jo Brand has. She has not asked Jo Brand to justify herself, just the BBC. Knacker of The Yard will be investigating both.

Who?

Have we got one of those?

"Lame duck" doesn't begin to describe the irrelevance of that person.

She may be playing on that. There is little the BBC can do to damage her in response.
I certainly used to help colleagues out once I had resigned and whilst serving out notice, in the RAF and civvy street, by saying things they wished to say but couldn't, or by taking the blame for things they'd done (in good faith).

Fox, once, while I was suping a beer in the airport bar in Acapulco as one does, my boss was being grilled by The Sun. No idea how that came to be and sadly Gainsey from TOP died shortly after.

A short while after I retired he asked me where my computer files were. Sadly my personal account on the system had been deleted and he did not know who to contact for restoration on an RAF system as he was Army. My other computer had been cleaned to C:/ 😁

At least the BBC have finally recognised reality and apparently 'removed' the comment from the publicly available recording.

I have never found Brand's 'humour' amusing (is there some 'Family Brand' genetic issue there?) Not helped by her appearance. She really would be better advised to 'retreat' from public gaze.

I see Victoria Coren-Mitchell is defending her (now there's a better looker - nice tits!) but then I discover V C-M is the show 'host'. No bias there, then.

Over on another forum someone has written that they are hoping that perhaps the victim of a real acid attack might want to meet her in person to see if she then understands that horror of one of these attacks and how a victim might feel when he/she hears this "joke".

Would she agree to that meeting? I wouldn't put money on it.

BBC.....bunch of *.

I never look at the BBC but outa curiosity looked up this Jo Brand. As predicted she's a fat fugly horrible sh!t which most leftist 'women' (for want of a better word) are. Throwing battery acid on them might actually improve their looks.

Agree with Boac on this Victoria C-M who I looked up too. Quite nice tits indeed. Saw a snip that people were asking what clothes she wore. Who cares? Would rather see her topless.

I had to laugh at this, on QT :

How do you get a free TV and licence?
Refuse to pay your TV licence, go to prison, and get a free TV in your cell!
