Paying Merton and Hislop £20,000 per episode of HIGNFY is a disgrace. Last night's guests were totally unfunny and Jo Brand is on TV far too often. The program should be put out of its misery.

OFSO, another unfunny comedy that I am aware of.

Much better wit on ON.

I was just flicking through the channels and on BBC News they had the Travel Show concentrating on Iceland, this might be interesting I thought, turns out it was all about gay marriage ceremonies amonst the lava.

How long until it becomes compulsory?

If fire and brimstone come to you I don't think you get consulted beforehand.

I quite agree OFSO. Not only that, but the BBC exceeded even it's own subservience to PC last night, announcing that self-serving pillock who sat next Hislop as simply Rylan, rather than Rylan Clarke-Neil, the reason being that his gay marriage has broken down:

Richard Ellef Ayoade is never off the TV either, along with Romesh Ranganathan and for balance, Richard Osman, who must be raking it in. I was in a Waterstone's yesterday and his books were everywhere. It must be difficult trying to break into the entertainment business these days, even if you're really good.

Why? What has the grass done to deserve it?

BBC biased? Oh no! Can't be true. They wouldn't spend nearly 10 minutes bleating on about some Tory MP who has lined his pockets through lobbying and only ten seconds on some ex-Labour MP (who happens to be a Corbyn fan) who's picked up a suspended jail sentence for threatening to chuck acid in some other woman's face, would they?

BBC does it again!

Drops Michael Vaughan from a radio programme because he is 'alleged' to have made a 'racist' comment years ago. So they have already judged him 'guilty' of this 'offence' based on hearsay from one or two people.

There is no place for racism in our society but this 'wokeness' has got to ridiculous levels. I am sure most of us have been guilty of making comments that the London centric, left leaning, woke BBC and similar would now judge as racist.

I am sure Capetonian is turning in his grave.

I think the BBC should apologise to Germany for Fawlty Towers and Dads Army.
To all minority groups for Alf Garnet. To Indians for It Ain't Half Hot. To rag and bone men

To all its viewers for unrelenting wokeness

I understand that Jeremy Vine has re-written WW1 history by declaring that we didn't have any aircraft in it, only Zeppelins..........................

And Leefe Robinson whose exploits we had to memorise as an old boy of our school.
Lieutenant (later Captain) William Leefe Robinson (Eaglesfield 09-14) was the first man to shoot down a German rigid airship over Britain.
Note Wiki describes it as an airship so in that case Vine might not have excepted the Zeppelin even.

I very much doubt that Mr Vine would know of (or be interested in) the difference between an airship and an aeroplane. His naivety (if indeed it is that), is frequently laid bare on Egghheads - a TV quiz programme for the non-UK viewers. Frankly, despite his private school and university education, he doesn't seem to me to be the sharpest knife in the draw - perhaps his brother Tim got all the brains - and the humour.
