I were thinking more about stationary with all that jigging about before. If heading south through the RS why in the northbound lane?

There was much confusion in the initial reports. Sabiti was Southbound, Sinopa Northbound. Sabiti, not Sinopa as originally (mis)reported, was the casualty. Her deep draft is atypical of Gulf oil exporting countries' tankers when Southbound through the canal, hence, perhaps, the confusion.

The bad news is that there will be retribution in kind, just as there was for IR655.
