Tiffany Trump announces engagement on her father's final full day in office

By Betsy Klein, CNN

Updated 12:38 PM ET, Tue January 19, 2021

(CNN)Tiffany Trump, the youngest daughter of President Donald Trump, announced her engagement to Michael Boulos Tuesday. Her happy news -- which happened at the White House -- comes on her father's final full day in office.

"It has been an honor to celebrate many milestones, historic occasions and create memories with my family here at the White House, none more special than my engagement to my amazing fiancé Michael! Feeling blessed and excited for the next chapter!" Trump posted on Instagram, with an image of herself and Boulos standing on the White House colonnade, a ring on Trump's finger.

Boulos, described by Town & Country as a "scion from a wealthy family overseas" and by Vanity Fair as a "billionaire heir," posted the same image, writing, "Got engaged to the love of my life! Looking forward to our next chapter together."
Trump, the only child of the President and his second wife, Marla Maples, was primarily raised by Maples in California. She graduated from Georgetown Law School in May 2020, and though she's largely kept a low profile over the last four years compared to her older siblings, she stepped into the political spotlight over the summer when she spoke at the Republican National Convention.
"Our generation is unified in facing the future in uncertain times -- and many of us are considering what kind of country we want to live in. As a recent graduate, I can relate to so many of you who might be looking for a job. My father built a thriving economy once, and believe me, he will do it again," she said at the time, urging Americans to vote "based on results and not rhetoric."
Trump also made multiple stops as a campaign surrogate in the weeks before the election.
Trump, 27, and Boulos, 23, have been spotted together at multiple events with the first family, from holidays at Mar-a-Lago to the State of the Union address.
The couple's plans after the Trump presidency were not immediately clear.

Apparently, Trump is currently the most outgoing President - another claim for his ego.

If Trump heads for his Mar-a-Lago retreat (on Airforce One) before Biden is 'inaugurated', where will the nuclear handbag be?

Are there duplicates (in case the serving President is incapacitated whilst bin possession of the handbag - maybe hours away from the VP)?
There are three nuclear footballs in total; two are allocated to the president and vice president, with the last being stored in the White House.
In presidential transitions, the president-elect does not receive the actual nuclear code card until after the nuclear briefing, when normally "he meets with the outgoing president at the White House just before the actual inauguration ceremony.
The code card is activated electronically right after the president-elect takes the oath at noon".

There are provisions for the spare to become the primary at noon tomorrow regardless of where then Ex-President Trump is.
Hopefully, it won't be needed for the 16 and a half hours.
Let's hope its not needed for a while after either.

Trump won't hand Biden the nuclear football. Here's how the handoff will happen.
When he is sworn in on Wednesday, President-elect Joe Biden will get the nuclear "football" — an oddly shaped 45-pound briefcase that is always at the president’s command and control of the nation's massive nuclear arsenal.

A military aide carrying the "football" remains physically close to the president, ready to carry out a well-rehearsed choreography of command and control.

Smithsonian Magazine reported that is it officially called the “president’s emergency satchel,” and is built around a "sturdy aluminum frame, encased in black leather." But, the magazine noted, unlike in the movies, it does not have a big red button for launching a nuclear war.

However, for the first time, the outgoing president, Donald Trump, will not handoff the black leather case to the incoming president. Typically, the handoff of the football from the outgoing president to the newly sworn in president takes place at the inauguration ceremony at the Capitol.

Since Trump is planning to be in Florida when Biden is sworn in, the handoff will happen differently. This is the first time in the nuclear age that a sitting president hasn’t attended his successor’s inauguration.

One hopes that the nuclear football has been disconnected for some years now, pretty much like the outgoing incumbent.

The sooner the graceless, sociopathic, orange puddle of self regard, his Eastern European crack whore looking wife, and his egregious, sucking family, are completely out of Washington the better.

It is said that the POTUS has the unilateral decision and the Secretary of Defense has no veto.
The United States has a two-man rule in place at nuclear launch facilities, and while only the president can order the release of nuclear weapons, the order must be verified by the secretary of defense to be an authentic order given by the president (there is a hierarchy of succession in the event that the president is killed in an attack). This verification process deals solely with verifying that the order came from the actual president. The secretary of defense has no veto power and must comply with the president's order. Once all the codes have been verified, the military would issue attack orders to the proper units. These orders are given and then re-verified for authenticity. It is argued that the president has almost sole authority to initiate a nuclear attack since the secretary of defense is required to verify the order, but cannot veto it

So Steve Bannon received a pardon?...Awaiting trail for his alleged ripping off the funding (Wire Fraud?) of Trump supporters who thought they were contributing to 'the Wall' (The one Mexico was going to pay for, remember?)

Then someone wrote -

Trump supporters: you didn’t get a healthcare plan, a wall, infrastructure, economic growth or jobs. But you did get COVID and Steve Bannon got a pardon for defrauding you!

It's somewhat disturbing that so many still think the fraudster is a messiah, Bannon's pardon really shows corrupt to the end....

More in depth info on the "Football"

Trump won't hand Biden the nuclear football. Here's how the handoff will happen.
For the first time, the outgoing president will not hand off the black leather case to the incoming president.

Jan. 19, 2021, 7:49 PM MST
By Carol E. Lee and Dan De Luce
When he is sworn in Wednesday, President-elect Joe Biden will get the nuclear "football" — an oddly shaped 45-pound briefcase that is always at the president's side to command and control the country's massive nuclear arsenal.

A military aide carrying the "football" remains physically close to the president, ready to carry out the well-rehearsed choreography of command and control.

Smithsonian Magazine reported that is it officially called the "president's emergency satchel," and it is built around a "sturdy aluminum frame, encased in black leather." But, the magazine noted, unlike in the movies, it does not have a big red button to launch a nuclear war.

However, for the first time, the outgoing president, Donald Trump, will not hand off the black leather case to the incoming president. Typically, the handoff takes place at the inauguration ceremony at the U.S. Capitol.

Because Trump plans to be in Florida when Biden is sworn in, the handoff will happen differently. It will be the first time in the nuclear age that a sitting president has not attended his successor's inauguration.

A U.S. official said that a military aide will accompany Trump to Florida with one of the footballs and that Trump will retain sole authority to launch a nuclear strike until 11:59:59 a.m. Wednesday. Trump's being physically out of Washington will not affect his launch authority or access to the football until noon. (There are multiple footballs that allow a president to launch a military strike while traveling.)

Another military aide with a second nuclear football will hand over the authority to Biden once he is sworn in, the official said, and the military aide with Trump will bring the football back to Washington.

The football for Biden will be on hand for him at noon Wednesday.

Retired Navy Adm. James Stavridis, an NBC News contributor, said that at noon, the football with Biden will become the one that is "activated," in the sense that U.S. Strategic Command would go to that one if something happened that meant it was needed.

"Right before he becomes president, there's a football in his vicinity [that] is activated," Stavridis said of Biden.

In a 2013 documentary by the Discovery Channel, former Vice President Dick Cheney describes the moment as it typically unfolds.

"The passing of the football occurs at high noon. Nobody says a word, but I knew what to look for," he said. "So you've got the ceremony going down front, but ... sort of behind one of the big pillars there in the front, these two guys are standing there in their uniform, and at the right moment he reaches over to hand it to the newly designated military aide. And he takes it from that moment on. The new president is the guy who's in control of our nuclear assets."

There have been some unusual events surrounding the football under the different presidents, said presidential historian Michael Beschloss, an NBC News contributor.

The location of football "was an issue when JFK assassinated was in Dallas," he said. "Reagan's nuclear code card was accidentally thrown out at the hospital after he was shot in 1981. Clinton lost his nuclear code card for a few months in 2000.

Biden, who has just arrived for the Inauguration, is going to need more than luck in the following months...
