Barking,you mention 9k. For mass shootings, including the gunman killed by police, the figure is about 383. If your 9k is correct this in events not defined as mass shootings. Mass shooting does not necessarily imply death either.

Contrast 383 killed in a population of about 300m with 83 knife deaths in London from a population of 10m.

Then look at the distance question. A 100 miles from London or 25 from Nottingham and I fear no evil. I rarely venture out after 9pm. It is a different world after dark.

83 knife deaths in London so far this year. Remove from that tally the number of deaths of Africans, Asians and West Indian origined 'British' and I wonder how many would be left. Half a dozen whites ? Of course the powers-that-be would never dare keep statistics based on race.

Quite right Bob. We played Cowboys and Indians. That by would have eliminated half of my playmates. Then it would have been gunfight at the OK Coral. That would have knocked off most of the rest before we did cops and robbers.

At least that wasn't lethal as our cops weren't armed.

Oh, forgot, the robbers would have killed the cops and be the only ones to grow up and become politicians.

So I believe the the El Paso guy drove almost 8 hours from his home town...and opened fire in a shopping area frequented by Hispanics.

Local Law Enforcement treating it as a case of Domestic Terrorism...(I suggested that the Las Vegas shooting was Domestic Terrorism, and wow didn't I get called out for that!...I still maintain those in Vegas would have been terrified! but I digress), kinda puts this incident in the middle of the debate about immigration, national identity & border security.

I'm guesing that at one time it was difficult for Americans to comprehend how people could be lured into acts of extreme violence against innocent people in far flung places....and yet with this..it's happening in their own Country...with their own citizens.
