UP, all this blame about countries we do not need to go to quarantine on return is bollocks. It is not for the foreign office to answer for other countries allowing us to go there without quarantine. Another country could change its rules even before the FO know.

Indeed it is quite reasonable for a flight to a low risk country require people flying in to quarantine.

I take it you don’t watch her daily briefings, especially the one yesterday with the detailed reasonings for the exclusion of Spain and Serbia? As a non-Scot living in Scotland and a fervent anti-SNP and anti-independence person I have to say I’ve been impressed with her directness and positive actions regarding Covid-19. Sorry to say that I tire of ill informed comments from those here who live outside Scotland but who just like jumping on the bandwagon of criticism for the sake of it.

When all this is over I shall revert to my criticism of the SNP desire for Independence.

Perhaps she's trying to keep a lid on it. A friend in Edinburgh caught it two months ago - he tells me it was agony for a couple of days and took weeks to recover. He said it taught him a lesson about being casual with his health risks. I can't understand the selfish and stupid attitude of the thickos who cannot see where their actions might lead, like the crowds on the Bournemouth beaches and the lot in the pub. Another spike on the way chaps?

Devolved powers in health matters mean she can take her own course of action and doesn't have to blindly follow BJ, who is probably the first person to blame for Westminster's pathetic handling of Covid leading to so many deaths. I had great hopes for him but not any more - he's just a spluttering windbag - being led by the Mekon Cummings. I'm not a fan of the constantly whining SNP either, but at least she seems to be showing signs of 'leadership' as we used to call it in the forces!

At the risk of sucking big toes here I must state that last three posts above represent comments from three people I respect a great deal on this site and I agree pretty much with all three of them in their opinions as stated above. My respect is not built on sycophancy either but on the moderate, well stated and fair common sense that these gentlemen generally demonstrate even when I might not always agree with their points of view!

Another Defence Review? The RN will be down to fishery patrol and Immigrant assistant ferries in the Channel soon. Maybe the RAF could be provided with some microlights for surveillance and the Army run the reception facilities in Dover and Folkestone.

Interesting that a work colleague flew to Germany from the US, went to a doctor the day he arrived for a Covid test. Test came back negative a couple of days later and he was then released from quarantine restrictions.

So 4th July. Today's the 11th. Are we supposed to deduce from the photo that many of those infected each other ? Well ? Any proof ?

I think any proof will be evident if there is a spike in cases. That shouldn't be too difficult for the NHS/Health Ministry to quantify. If not, then I still think it was foolish to get together like this so soon.
