“We’re cutting public services to increase spending on public services.”

Conservative MPs are, it seems, now threatened with withdrawal of the whip if they do not support Kami's 'budget' - that should hasten a defeat in the HoC.

I'm picking up the shreds of the Chancellor's 'budget' and I now wonder how long before the 'new' plans are changed? Judging by the Truss so far I reckon about 3 weeks.

I was wrong. Remember, the Truss is 'not for turning'. What this does for international confidence in this shambles heaven only knows.

I gather the Chancellor, despite doing the rounds of 'interviews' this morning, has bottled out of going on GMB to be torn apart by Martin Lewis and has sent a minion instead.

First we hear of hedge fund managers cashing in on the made in Downing Street kamikwaze budget.
Now we learn of the appointment of a fund manager as a minister.
Not just any fund manager.
He’s a Conservative donor and the co-founder of Jacob Rees-Mogg’s investment company.

If someone had written this in a book, you would treat it as science fiction!

The next 'U-turn' is expected over the plans for benefit increases and Gove appears to be leading the rebellion. (Does he perhaps smell a hint ........?)

Also a staggering admission by one of the government's leading Brexiteers that they had not be 'fair' in their dealings with NI or the EU. Stap me vitals! Whatever next - a pig flying past my window?
