Drove up the A12 from Ipswich to Great Yarmouth tonight, all petrol stations open, no queues.

Maybe the local swampies have a short attention span and forgotten they are supposed to be panicking over the fuel 'shortage'.

Our German doctor was commenting forcefully at length yesterday on the theme of why the general population is so stupid and vote for incompetent and corrupt politicians. Took a moment to realise he was not talking about the UK but on the recent German elections.

I doubt that extending the visa by a paltry 2 months will make an iota of difference to the take up rate, which will be negligible. A visa, valid for a year might have elicited more interest. Don't these fools realise that relocating one's sphere of operations is difficult, and expensive and simply isn't worth it for a short contract. Perhaps that is what that shyster Johnson, and his moronic ministers wanted. The appearance of doing something while pandering to the prejudices of their equally moronic Brexit bothering constituents!

This is surely what I class in business as a GBMF YOYO moment!

I received this from a logistics specialist friend this morning who had initally asked me to be a referee (which I would gladly have done, as he is a diligent and British army trained guy)... Perhaps he was expecting too much money. I don't see this shortage of trained drivers being sorted any time soon.

Rather shocking news this morning, the lorry driver shortage in Germany caused by Brexit has resulted in tanker drivers without the qualifications being recruited as emergency measures, I wonder how the insurance will work, that certainly is a desperation move by Germany.

Every garage forecourt in my area is in normal operation, queues of two or three cars, diesel, E5 and E10 available. It is thought that the precautionary stand by of Army drivers will result in the resumption of normal service throughout the country in a few days, a potential crisis well handled in my opinion.
