Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
I sincerely hope that the ventriloquist, having recently withdrawn their operating hand(s) from the access orifice, scrupulously “washes their hands in soap and water, it’s the temperature of the water which kills the virus”.
Or bacteria would be more appropriate in this case?
The quote is from our late great Health Secretary, one Matt Handycock, who believes that 70 degrees Celsius water temperature is the solution to controlling the virus.*
Good luck as you queue up at A&E in the UK or await admission to ER in the USA for badly burned hands!
Just mentioned this in case we’d all forgotten that total medical bollocks from the UK eggspurts!
* This is one of many ‘antivirus’ myths which have been swallowed by the masses over the last 2 years but the digestion and elimination of which is going to cause a great deal of psychological pain.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
We really do owe a huge vote of 'thanks' to the idiots who voted this bunch of Conservatives into power.
Now it is said that a Conservative MP has been found to be watching porn on his mobile in the House. Wonderful. Whether it was Ms Rayner's leg action he was watching or not, who knows? Perhaps it was Bonking Boris in action? Nadine doing naughty things? The Mogg in fishnet tights?
No doubt the Mogg will soon tell us this is just more 'froth'. What a bunch of incompetents!

boac sez:- “No doubt the Mogg will soon tell us this is just more 'froth' What a bunch of incompetents!”
Perhaps we may need another thread titled ‘Pantygate’ to discriminate ‘twixt the 2 types of mortal sin being committed by our revered democratic representatives, sorry, “bunch of incompetents”, on both sides of the HoC?
The recent fuss about Angela Rayner exercising her legs opposite the PM raises the important question of the behaviour of male MPs towards, or in the company of, women.
Alas when asked to define “what is a woman?”, all those in the public eye have failed to answer the question and to clearly define what we understand by the noun “woman” when referring to these lovely creatures.
It appears that most of the howls of outrage are coming from the Labour side and they are the worst and the shyest and apparently the least well-informed when it comes to answering that awfully tricky question.
So new heights are being scaled in demonstrating a firm grasp of the non-essentials by our highly paid but less highly respected elected representatives, but as always, no change there then?

It was, apparently, 'Neil Parish', MP for Tiverton and Honiton, who has had the 'whip' removed. That will limit his porno somewhat..........
Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Gosh! He has resigned. Whatever went wrong....that shouldn't happen? Just a few dozen more to go.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
The cartoon of “Parishgate” in this morning’s Sunday Times shows a tractor salesman explaining to a customer re their tractors, “They come in red, green and 50 shades of grey“!
The explanation by Neil Parish that he was looking up tractors online and stumbled across “Busty Blondes on Trampoline” ranks with Dom Cummings’ sight-test excuse for putting Barnard Castle in Co. Durham on the map!
Alternatively he could have feigned an interest in the current war in Europe and claimed he was looking at this publication with a view to exporting tractors to help the Ukrainian food harvest;
https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/552/552 ... 81443.html
Then, in keeping with lots of interweb searches, it all goes horribly wrong;

The stench of the Tory cess-pit rises ever higher - from the Mirror in January:

Tory Michelle Mone investigated over whether she 'sought to profit' from Lords membership
The Tory peer and Ultimo bra tycoon has come under scrutiny over her alleged ties to PPE Medpro, which scooped two contracts worth a combined £203m to supply the NHS with face masks and surgical gowns
Tory peer Michelle Mone has been placed under investigation over her links to a firm that landed more than £200million of Government PPE contracts.
The lingerie tycoon’s alleged ties to PPE Medpro have come under intense scrutiny after it scooped two contracts worth a combined £203m to supply the NHS with face masks and surgical gowns.
Ultimo bra founder Lady Mone, 50, has repeatedly denied any association with the company, which she recommended to the Cabinet Office as a potential supplier in May 2020 at the height of the first coronavirus wave.
The House of Lords Commissioners for Standards today announced a formal investigation.
They will probe whether Baroness Mone has breached seven separate parts of the House of Lords Code of Conduct.
Baroness Mone said in a statement: “I completely refute these allegations.
“I was asked to help at a time of national emergency. I declared all necessary interests and have done nothing wrong.
“I will cooperate fully with any investigation.”
The paragraphs of the Code of Conduct over which Baroness Mone is being investigated are:
That peers must comply with the Code;
That peers “should act always on their personal honour in the performance of their parliamentary duties and activities”;
That peers “must never accept or agree to accept any financial inducement as an incentive or reward for exercising parliamentary influence”;
That peers “must not seek to profit from membership of the House by accepting or agreeing to accept payment or other incentive or reward in return for providing parliamentary advice or services”;
That peers must register all relevant interests;
That they must declare interests when speaking about relevant matters in the Lords;
That they must not seek to “confer exclusive benefit” on outside people or firms in which they have a financial interest.
------------
It also appears that her £11 million London house is owned by.................you'd never guess...........
an offshore company.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
On being told that pensioners couldn't pay heating bills so they use their free bus passes to stay on a bus all day and keep warm, Boris triumphantly exclaimed "Yes! And who gave them the free bus passes? I did." Another lie. It was (and still is) the London Boroughs.

Just to clarify the London Boroughs’ generosity, I don’t live in a L B, but I do have and frequently use my bus pass, which will even get me as far as Carter Bar or nearest stop but it is not valid in Jockistan...OFSO wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 11:58 amOn being told that pensioners couldn't pay heating bills so they use their free bus passes to stay on a bus all day and keep warm, Boris triumphantly exclaimed "Yes! I am now 60, but I am not sure if I am entitled to a bus pass. I see the potential for a comic caper here if I am. barking, as the source of intelligence, what say you?barkingmad wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 8:16 pmRest assured next time I drive up the A68, in order to annoy my siblings in Edinburgh, I can collect you and drop you off within striking distance of Biggar.G-CPTN wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 8:11 pmWith a daughter resident in Scotland (Biggar) that is an annoyance to me.barkingmad wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 7:34 pm

My favourite caper was to board the omnibus from my southern kennel to Gatwick south terminal, in uniform, with flightbag and o’night luggage and proffer the >60 bus pass to the driver.
Some priceless expressions observed on the faces of driver and front seat passengers.
But I drew the line at the white stick and guide hound, that was taking it too far!

Anyone see Susanna Reid making BoJo wish he had a fridge handy on 'Good Morning' Britain' today?
