BBC1 19:35 UK Time tonight: Panorama investigates Greensill and David Cameron.
Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
He only pocketed £7 million. A nice guy. What is wrong with that? Honest as the day is long, this Conservative party.

No wonder it took so long to write his memoire as he had to work to hard.
Anyone with half a brain would have seen him as a liability not an asset.
Good to remember Labour didn't even wait to get out of office before grafting. Remember Hoon.

Even better! Remember he supposedly campaigned against lobbying and manipulated the Lords on the Bill. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... -greensillDT says 10 Mill
You can see where Bojo crafted his skills of dishonesty.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
boac sez: “In a 'democracy' such as ours where the populace 'elect' the government - and by default its leader - the only way to break this Dictatorship is to make it clear to all our Tory MPs that we will not put up with it, and if they vote against our majority wishes they will not be re-elected“.
Despite negative comments in this forum as to the futility of writing to MPs, I already had written to my ‘Red Wall’ MP before the posting of the above suggestion but so far answer came there none.
How many other UK voters here have bothered to threaten their MP with support withdrawal if their name is recorded in the “wrong” lobby in the relevant HoC vote?
Otherwise STFU may be a valid suggestion?

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Definitely a WTF. They changed all the GCSE grades for just that reason. I asked my daughter how her class was expected to do and she gave me a bunch of numbers. My first question was how did that compare with the earlier mark.An overhaul of the marking system to tackle grade inflation could result in the alphabetical “A-E” grades being dismantled and replaced with numbers, The Daily Telegraph understands.
Employers will ask exactly that and all marks will eventually rise to alpha 1 * ++.
Why don't they go for hard results as used to be the case with CSE and GCE. You were thus immediately divided into one group or the other. Your GCE were then pass or fail. Success was measured by the simple total of GCE. Geniuses hit 9 or 10 passes. 5 or more qualified you to apply for a commission, 4 and you could become NCO aircrew.
Quality was measured by the subjects passed with Maths, English, Physics and Chemistry being in a different category than the Arts.
You got the tick in the box and then employers would consider you.

It was much simpler in 1952, I just left school at 15 and let the RAF educate me!

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
BM, I don't know how you could do that.
Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Do you mean post a YouTube clip OR Are you saying that was BM on the megaphone? Presumably pre-op?

The latter, though one can't be sure
Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
A Latvian lady works in Hull, on being asked to speak English and not Latvian whilst at work she immediately sued the Company for being racist.
A Judge awarded her £10,000.00, we are fcuked.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
That went on here with Hispanic and I think Chinese or Asians as well.
Employers worried that customers took offense if they thought that those not speaking English in front of them were saying something derogatory about them. No proof though.
Don't recall the legal outcome.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Anyone else having trouble getting answers from Government departments?
First problem normally is they ask you to use a web message page - so, unless you copy and save your entry it is gone - no copy.
Then they sometimes don't acknowledge receipt.
Then comes the "We're very busy at the moment and will take xxx days to reply"
Then they don't. Further enquiry, same results. Sometimes "Cannot find your request - please re-submit"
Is this a new 'policy' to avoid answering the question?

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Yes.
RAF - to avoid denial of service attacks your email has been rejected. Possibly because I used a VPN.
HMRC - refund? Nix
Veterans Agency - widows pension? Nix
In contrast, requests to NHS for LFT and antibody test kits met in less than 24 hrs. Obviously thanks to Dido's efforts
As an aside, Dido is the only CEO from whom I have had a personal reply to messages and more than once.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
HMRC - No acknowledgement of letter and then 4 months to action, only after Ombudsman and MP intervention. 1hr:10 mins on advertised self-assessment phone line to be told this number cannot answers SA queries.............bastards eventually 'gave' me £10 in compensation (probably out of your tax )
In contrast, requests to NHS - local response excellent. Queries to 'head office' stalled.
I think we've found Dildo's fan....................

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
On the the other hand one can imagine the outrage amongst the small brained "Kleine Englanders" that read the Daily Wail if some foreign company had decreed that English should not be spoken socially, between English speaking employees, except at certain times of the day! Such outrage would, of course, have been completely reasonable as such a policy is clearly discriminatory, whether it is Lativian being spoken or English, but such injustice is only judged one way by those on the Daily Mail outrage bus.
