What have I done to possibly deserve this :((
Last week there were reports that if Mrs Braverman failed to beat Mrs Drummond, she could compete with Tory MP Paul Holmes for the new Hamble Valley seat – or be parachuted into the Windsor constituency being vacated by Adam Afriyie.

You could always hope it's a faulty parachute.

So, violent identifying-as-female inmates will now be put in male prisons because of the threat to female inmates.

Remind me, where have violent female lesbians always been put?

IF Sunak, his team and the EU have managed to pull the rabbit out of the hat, then mucho kudos to them all. In my view the 'disruption' in the Tory camp should be ignored, with, I think enough 'opposition' support fo this to get through, and the ERG told to go forth and multiply if they dissent.

Everything I read before the deal seemed to major on the role of the ECJ. Since the deal was done, not a word has been mentioned by Downing Street on the ECJ.
The conclusion would seem to be that the ECJ still has a role, and Sunak's in for some trouble when the text is published.
IF Fond Of Lying is happy, I expect the genuine Brexiteers are going to be incensed.

Leaving aside the 'Tony Handcock' 'What'sApp reveals', the big question surely is why is government business apparently conducted on an unmonitored commercial system?

Boris Johnson has said he will find it "very difficult" to vote for Rishi Sunak's new Brexit deal for Northern Ireland.
The former prime minister said the deal was "not about the UK taking back control".
It is the first time he has commented since Mr Sunak unveiled the Windsor agreement on Monday.
The deal with the EU aims to fix post-Brexit trade problems in Northern Ireland.
Won’t he actually have to attend Parliament to vote?

Understatement of the year , century :)) :))
Liz Truss has admitted she "didn't do everything perfectly" while UK prime minister for just 45 days last year.

Word is wrong there. Replace "everything" by "anything".

Boris Johnson says interim report which states on numerous occasions he misled parliament "vindicates him".

Two fantastists for the price of one....

Least surprising news this week.
As Rishi Sunak hailed his Brexit deal that “takes back control” of Northern Ireland, the European Union’s chief negotiator told a private meeting in Brussels a vastly different story of who controls the province.

..and it appears no one was fooled anyway
No Brexit deal bounce for Rishi Sunak, poll shows
Conservatives are still 23 per cent behind Labour and would be reduced to just 69 seats if the results were replicated in an election

Ladybird (children's) Books is now employing 'sensitivity readers.' What are they looking for ?

"The publisher has enlisted their use to identify passages in works in its back catalogue that contain offensive content that readers could find offensive.

Themes like handsome princes falling for beautiful princesses in classic tales like Snow White and Cinderella could prove problematic, according to the Sunday Telegraph, as they promote physical attractiveness and heteronormative romance.

Characters presuming other people’s pronouns and discussing social class could also be problematic, as could lack of diversity among protagonists."

I can only comment along the lines of something brown and smelly emerging from the rear end of a male bovine creature...

"Kim Jong Un may be appearing with his daughter in public to present her as a potential successor as he seeks to portray his family as being a dynasty like the British Royal Family, an expert on the secretive country has said." (BBC, today).

Big difference would be the death penalty for transgressions!

More on the 'Tony Handcock' 'What'sApp reveals' from Neil Oliver who I gather is rather angry at the way we've been treated in the UK but his monologue will apply to most so-called 'civilised Western democracies;

I am most certainly VERY angry at the attempt to fool me and others into this scam ! X(

But who here is NOT angry, or are you all scared of what's coming down the tracks towards us?! :-?

When YT likely wipes this video will you then believe in censorship? ~X(

Well, it is still there on YT, so paranoia can still have time off (but it doesn't mean they are not out to get you).

Interesting - I have always thought Oliver to be intelligent and aware (some would say 'woke', of course :)), but he is certainly 'late on parade' from his admission that he 'trusted' politicians until recently. I have undergone a regrettable transition over my decades from an engendered/inherited 'trust or belief' in many things, like Vicars, Scout masters, police, the media and politicians to name just a few (and please note I do not bracket ALL of those in the same box) to one of suspicious distrust. He seems to have taken longer. My views on our successive governments are recorded here in "electronic hard copy" to coin a phrase.

The concept of a 'great reset' is attractive. The opportunity to properly 'build back better' is attractive. The major problem is, however, we do need 'governments' of some sort - be they elected or just seizing power - to run things. Without some sort of centralised control most of our fabric would cease to work. The quest for the solution goes on, and I did not see anything from Oliver or anyone else to suggest a workable alternative. We are stuck with what we have. In world history there have always been 'rulers' and 'the rest'. All that can be done is to constantly weed out the bad ones and carefully watch the new ones as they develop. This wittering on about the 'people' seeing though it all and rebelling will simply lead to a collapse of society.

I have long maintained that, while some new entrants to the political scene probably start with the correct altruistic ideals, very quickly these ideals are subverted to the target of personal advancement, power and glory. To quote?? Lord Acton
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men…"

If any of our O-N great thinkers have the solution, let's hear it. I don't.
