Re: Children's Climate protests.
Greta Thunberg is guest host on BBCs Radio Four today, so if you're a fan of hers, turn the radio on now. OTOH....
Re: Children's Climate protests.
I have read that this strange sullen child is going to edit a R4 Today programme over Christmas, the increasingly bizarre and leftie right on Al Beeb announced this with a straight face as though it was a perfectly normal thing to do. We do live in odd times.Greta Thunberg is guest host on BBCs Radio Four today,
She looks as though she might enjoy being introduced to the Duke of York which might cheer her up.

Indeed.
It's like a competition to see who can be the biggest idiot.
If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, and blaming it on you....

Probably a couple of days out from land, based on normal crossing times for a cat that size.

Re: Children's Climate protests.
You grumpy old buggers, picking on a little girl when you know that...
Talk to Ex-A when the water dries up and the last hippo dies in the worst drought that Botswana has known in recorded time. He like you is probably in denial (and yes it will rain again) but life wherever you are is never going to be quite the same again.
Some of you are old buggers and don't care a **** but your children and your grandchildren will!
No doubt Fox3 will find some specious argument, but in truth, even, he is intelligent enough to ken reality even if he won't say it!

Though you remain

The Turdberg is certainly impressive when she goes off script Amazing that so many adults have been suckered into hanging on to every word that a child utters.

Re: Children's Climate protests.
TGG - broken record here, but the argument is not that the climate is changing, but what is causing it. Spending vast amounts on something that there is no good evidence for making a difference is a stupid thing, as is suppressing any research that might help find out what the real cause is.
So-called Climate Change Deniers are no such thing. It is both counterproductive and malicious to refer to them as such.
Siseman - they are on a big catamaran with the wind behind them. It is only cross-swells that make such a ride bouncy, unlike with a monohull.

Should you rather describe them as Human Caused Climate Change Deniers then Fox3WheresMyBanana?Fox3WheresMyBanana wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 4:07 pmTGG - broken record here, but the argument is not that the climate is changing, but what is causing it. Re: Children's Climate protests.
Who cares if the climate is changing?
Not me.
The Climate has always changed. There have been ice ages, covering the uk in miles deep ice, and other warmer periods.
This silly complaining about the climate, is really saying just one thing: we control the climate, and the weather, and let's keep it as it is.
Fact check:
It will be both cooler than we'd prefer, and warmer- in the future.
Adapt!
We've seen worse, and we are tenants here, not the landlord.

Re: Children's Climate protests.
We aren't even deniers of that, in the sense that AGW might be right. Our main point at the moment is that AGW is a hypothesis that uses a lot of bad data to produce highly limited models giving predictions that don't work. From that, we think that AGW, if it is a cause, has a much smaller effect than the IPCC claims.
Large numbers of humans are basically panicking. Like all humans panicking, they want a complete, rapid, simple solution to the problem. As so often happens, they've gone for a complete, rapid, simple, wrong solution.
I propose a two-part solution.
First, better data and a genuinely open spirit of scientific enquiry to determine what the real causes and most likely effects are.
Secondly, a number of economically sensible solutions to reduce energy usage whatever happens to the climate.
The problem with both parts is that will require major changes to governments' principles of operation (like reducing control), and a reduction in bureaucracy. This in turn will lead to less opportunities for government tax-raising and graft. And that is why governments aren't even prepared to consider them.

- an idle 5 minutes Googling will show you that you have a major task on your hands to convince the world! Wiki explains it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change_denialFox wrote:So-called Climate Change Deniers are no such thing

Re: Children's Climate protests.
F#ck 'em!
No point arguing with idiots or zealots, since they are unconvinceable by anything except reality smacking them in the face, and many not even then.
In this case, the unemployment and/or economic collapse that will result from following AGW policies will convince people to change governments, even if it doesn't change their minds about the causes of climate change. All I have to do is minimise the effect of government on me, which is what I would be doing anyway.
p.s. The Daily Mail is a more reliable source than Wikipedia these days, especially on social problems. One of Wikipedia's original co-founders now calls it "appallingly biased".

Re: Children's Climate protests.
Idiots hide in groups.
We should be honest. We live on a planet, and we are not its master.
If we expect to survive for thousands of years, we must expect to meet with and deal with climate change- because it always changes.
If we base our behaviour on "keeping it as it is today" , we are screwed.
The Greenies should accept that, ultimately, we are screwed- the climate wil kill most of us, it was ever thus, but a few will survive and pump their way back into their millions. Climate has always killed entire branches of species.
The world will eventually change.
No need for knicker wetting, we're all dead in the medium term.
