Out with the old-no manifesto by TBP.
In with the new-Nigel’s offering a ‘contract’ with the UK electorate.

Re: General Election views
Hmm. I don't think it is going to work, sadly. At present we are faced with any Brexit Party MPs elected doubling up as spare pricks at a wedding!
Re: General Election views
Thank God for Andrew Neil. This idiot Lib Dum leader has as much grasp of simple arithmetic as Diane Abacus:
https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/11979 ... -Brexit-UK
Sorry barking - I know you'd already mentioned her, but I couldn't resist having another go!
Now the Uber Rat Tom Watson has jumped ship. Not only facing defeat in his own constituency for betraying their wishes re-Brexit, but un-apologetic over the lives he ruined in the 'Nick' scandal. Also delighted that Jumping Jack Hammond is also quitting along with the now self-admittedly biased Speaker Berkow. There's still a lot of sh*te to clear out of the Commons, though it's a good start. Maybe an elected upper house and the boot to all the political place men next?

[/Humiliated Jacob Rees-Mogg ‘to be sidelined during election campaign’ after being forced to apologise for saying dead Grenfell Tower victims lacked 'common sense'
Andrew Bridgen brought in to defend Tory colleague but needed to say sorry
Jacob Rees-Mogg branded insulting to victims and an election gift to Labour
Mr Bridgen said: 'We want very clever people running the country, don't we'
London Fire Brigade heavily criticised for its 'stay put' policy after 2017 blaze
55 of the 72 people who died in the fire had been told to remain in their flatsquote]
Another smug prick on the way out, hopefully

Re: General Election views
I am stumbling to understand the faux outrage about this, JRM merely stated the obvious fact that if you are in a building which is on fire the most sensible course of action is to leave it.
I find his comments quite understandable when compared to the badly spoken fat women in charge of the Fire Brigade who said that she had done nothing wrong and would do the same again.
The media are in full anti Boris flow this morning, can these people really want a Corbyn Government with unlimited uncontrolled immigration, free money for all, unions making the decisions, and a massive bloated public sector. I understand that school children in State Schools are being taught that Brexit is "evil".
The only ray of consolation is that despite the unrelenting BBC/CH4/everyone other MSM drive to discredit the Conservative Party they are well ahead in the polls and a leading Labour figure has this morning advised everyone to vote Tory.
I am not surprised the left hate JRM, he epitomises everything they loathe being educated and successful in business, that in its self is a heinous crime for them.

Re: General Election views
JRM needs to develop a sense of reality, that's all. The problem is that the impression he has given is that it is 'commonsense' to ignore published guidelines like 'stay put' - which was the incorrect guideline issued to the Fire Brigade for Grenfell (under his government's oversight). Does he suggest the public should ignore other 'rules' because it is 'commonsense'? If he had said that 'commonsense' would have made sure the Conservative government has made sure inquiry findings on other tower block fires and existing regulations has been adhered to in their many years 'at the helm' I suspect there would have been less outcry - they had not. There are some in all parties who are out of touch with 'the common people' and they need to learn what to say and when and how to say things, and the Conservatives have presented a somewhat disarrayed front so far. It is, largely, the 'common people' that will elect the next government, whether JRM likes it or not.

Re: General Election views
FD2, no need to apologise, the more publicity for Andrew ‘Brillo Pad’ Neill’s show the better.
I was very disappointed when his ‘This Week’ show ended but the Wednesday evening 1900hrs show is a perfect example of ballooons being deflated and occasionally legs being bitten off by his polite but assertive interviewing.
The 6th Nov show last night was particularly gratifying as he munched his way through the utterances of a couple of politicos, the ‘Business Minister’ and the Labour Shadow Transport gaffer, who were well and truly savaged. This bloodbath was inevitably preceded by a few minutes of Laura Keunsberg giving her “unbiased” take on the GE proceedings.
Labour have got off to a rocky start as have the Tory side. Once again I detect the ‘elites’ not sensing and addressing the seismic rumblings warning of electoral disaster for all the ‘main’ parties. I live in hope and try to keep my cool when I hear from those who are so fed up they say they can’t be bothered to vote-even if only to spoil the ballot paper.
And as always my sanity and hope are reinforced by the Jeff Taylor YouTube snippets which are infinitely more digestible than the BS being spouted on most of the MSM by biased commentators.

Re: General Election views
Before he became Leader of the House JRM used to chair phone ins on LBC, the people phoning in were the normal assortment of nutters, worriers, pub specialists and so on, I was always impressed how he was unfailingly polite, attentive to their concerns and invariably they left more happier than when they arrived.
Possibly a root cause to some of our woes is that fact that police chiefs, fire brigade chiefs and so on are promoted under diversity rules rather than on merit and their ability to do the job, this is obvious when we hear them speak.
For the past three years everything has been put to one side in Government, including reaction to the fire in the tower block, hopefully who ever takes over next month might just start looking at these things.

And the crap organisation surfaces and chaos has started;

It would be funny if it wasn’t so serious!
P N, a dyke is very useful for controlling large amounts of water thereby a brilliant qualification for the Fire & Rescue services?!

Re: General Election views
Highly unlikely to become more realistic with his background
Born
Jacob William Rees-Mogg
Rees-Mogg was born in Hammersmith, London, and educated at Eton College. He then studied History at Trinity College, Oxford, and was President of the Oxford University Conservative Association. He worked in the City of London and in Hong Kong[1] for Lloyd George Management until 2007, then co-founded a hedge fund management business Somerset Capital Management LLP.[2] He has amassed a significant fortune: his estimated net worth in 2016 was from £55 million to (including his wife's prospects) £150 million.[3][4] Moving into politics, he unsuccessfully contested the 1997 and 2001 general elections before being elected as the MP for North East Somerset in 2010

Re: General Election views
It’s not just anti- semitism that makes him unelectable, his complete lack of judgement on many policies does it for me.Labour voters should support Boris Johnson in the general election, former Labour MP Ian Austin has said.
The former minister resigned from the party in February, accusing leader Jeremy Corbyn of failing to tackle anti-Semitism.
Mr Austin, MP for Dudley North, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that Mr Corbyn was "completely unfit" to be PM.
Asked about his comments, Labour's Rebecca Long Bailey said telling people to vote Conservative was "absurd".
The shadow business secretary said Mr Austin had done "great work" as an MP but added that it wasn't "any secret" that he had differences with the Labour leader.
Chief Secretary to the Treasury Rishi Sunak called Mr Austin's comments a "truly devastating indictment of Jeremy Corbyn's leadership".
Speaking to the Express and Star newspaper, Mr Austin also announced he would be standing down as MP for Dudley North - a seat he held at the 2017 election with a majority of just 22.
He said: "I am so sorry that it has come to this, but as has always been the case, I have to do what I think is right."
He added: "I must do everything I can to stop Jeremy Corbyn from getting into power."
BBC political correspondent Chris Mason called Mr Austin's comments "astonishing".
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Re: General Election views
The Jewish Chronicle, and now two Rabbis, are asking people to vote tactically against Labour.
https://order-order.com/2019/11/07/seco ... ng-labour/
As for Wrong-Daily's opinion on anything...in her world, anything commonsense is absurd.
One wonders if the Archbish of C and the Pope will weigh in

For the Many Not the Few
Should we former members of RAF, object to the Labour Party slogan, as it appears to be an insult to the men & women of Fighter Command c1940?

Re: General Election views
Brexit Party, no seats eh?
I wonder if they'd like to make a bet on that?
The bookies have about even odds on 4 seats.
I would have thought there were a fair few Labour and Conservative Remain MPs in Leave constituencies that are under threat, and quite a number are stepping down this time also.

I think the message, vote Brexit get Labour is sinking in.
