Re: Head of Iran's Quds Force Killed at Baghdad Airport
Sounds plausible but based on the (chance?) shooting of the airliner (we can wait few hours until they go back to technical issue) and the estimation that Iran will remain quiet and not try anything else

The 'delicate' way that the Iranians have removed the evidence isn't going to make the job of the NTSB guys any easier.

A week ago all of the media and talking heads said we were in WW3. Did I miss it?

Iran shot down the airliner. The event brings back the same event when the US mistakenly shot down an Iranian airliner years ago. Both incidents were fog of war events, unintentional and tragic for all involved. In that light I don't castigate Iran - they didn't mean to do it, but did, and have to pay the consequences as the US did. But we won't do a Lockerbie, being above that level of humanity.

Re: Head of Iran's Quds Force Killed at Baghdad Airport
I was just making the point that their, the media and public (and our), attention spans are so short. Go to the news and it is as if Iran never happened. Of course this will start off again and then we will repeat the same painful sequence, WW3a, media hype, public panic, political positioning, calls for action against Trump in particular. What an awful way to run a foreign policy when you can't manoeuvre or bluff because your own country will not stand behind you. Diplomacy is the art of the possible which implies the pushing of boundaries, not confinement to the opinions of the noisiest opponent.
