Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Apparently because of Ginges Royal status he has diplomatic immunity everywhere in the world except the UK and therefore he can only be divorced in London. I bet she didn't know that..

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
That's going to cause a few divorce lawyers over on the West Coast to re-assess their potential future earnings downwards.
I've just had a look at their tacky web-site. Harry is still describing himself as Captain-General of the Royal Marines, Honorary Air Force Commandant of Royal Air Force Base Honington(sic) and Honorary Commodore-in-Chief of The Royal Navy’s Small Ships and Diving Operations - note use of present tense.

I read that they went for lunch with a very rich 'socialite' the day after he got back. Wallis Something, by a strange coincidence.
No period of quiet reflection for the loss of Grandpa for Harry - straight back on the money trail network again.

Why she would want to divorce? Isn't money wise (not to mention safer) to remain married to ginger?
Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
It looks as though ditching friends, partners and relatives has been a habit of hers in the past. I hope she doesn't ditch Harry, because they really deserve a long and happy relationship together away from his cold, racist family. They will get lots of attention from the Press too, which he craves.

Money to money. Harry's money tree is not as big as she might have thought, but if she could get a hundred million or so it would serve as bait for the next rich sucker.

One would assume so. So he has no compulsion to go to the USA to be questioned.

Remember diplomatic immunity is only a fig leaf of convention. It can even be withdrawn by the country granting it.
There was a case very recently where diplomatic immunity was held but home country recalled the person concerned lest the host country refused to accept it.
Now that would cause a row between friends would it not?

"A 43-year old woman was arrested last month for trespassing on the grounds of Prince Andrew's home. She was later detained under the Mental Health Act". Today's exercise, class, is to write a plausable and amusing story based on this report.

I think if you're in a country under diplomatic status then the host country can declare you persona non grata at any time and ask you to leave.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 2:51 pmRemember diplomatic immunity is only a fig leaf of convention. One does wonder if Harry is over there on diplomatic paperwork or if he's just got a green card based on marriage to a US citizen. If the latter then his legal and tax status changes. I wonder if he's being written out of all the royal wills so the IRS doesn't get a claim on royal assets when various people depart this mortal coil?

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Ilondel, good thought.
Diplomats don't normally work in the host country and any taxes they pay will be to their home country I would guess.
If someone with a diplomatic passport signs a multi billion dollar contract in the host country, will the tax authorities just smile and waive taxes? If you then set up a charity foundation and expect tax benefits, what then?
Something does not fit.

Yes well, he could have worn a suit and spoken in English.
