Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
I am not sure about that name.
In our daughter's case her name is Catherine aka Kate.
In my cousins cases, Thomas Arthur aka Arthur as his father was Thomas Arthur, and John Arthur aka Ian as his mother was Scots.

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
I think anything that comes from the California palace is calculated to either get under the skin of the Royal Family or in this case to remind them forever about their 'kin' who will no doubt live across the water in the future. I suspect Harry is now slightly deranged from all the psychobabble that he has been fed since he met Mrs Simpson Ms Markle and that most of the initiative for these sly moves comes from her, because she just sees it as a power play between poor downtrodden Megan and the beastly Brits, personified by the racist Royal Family bullies.
She won't be defeated by normal rebuttal with facts and does not have an empathetic bone in her body, despite her carefully cultivated 'image'. She will no doubt claim to be terribly hurt by the way her own family has treated her and against all the evidence will see that as their fault and nothing to do with her habit of ghosting former friends and family. Harry was already half way there according to the interview that his former girlfriend Cressida Bonas gave and his own admissions of being obsessed with the Press, thought to be lurking everywhere waiting to pounce from the shadows.
I don't think there is anyone still alive who uses the 'Lilibet' nickname - Prince Philip and her parents having died - so I see this as a move which is calculated to draw sympathy and yet more attention. Quite frankly it is wrong. Elizabeth would have been OK, but not this.

They should have named her Andrea after Megan's mom.

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor
He's not cashing in on his royal connections, is he?
OK, so he's related to Diana, but not to the Germans, is he?
He's got a **** cheek using the Queen's childhood nickname. None of the living Germans would dare to address her, or even refer to her, by that name.
Time to revoke his absurd title and to carefully consider whether he should be given the same treatment by the Passport Office and was given to the Begum bint.

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Terry Thomas would have said "An absolute shower". But neither Harry nor Me-me would understand that. Too thick.
Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
PN - yes naming her after her other grandmother or even both grannies would have been a nice gesture - Andrea Elizabeth perhaps - but Andrea is a 'nobody' in terms of future status and earnings potential. Now Megain is a 'somebody' she can do better than that. Andrea may be used for babysitting duties occasionally if it suits the PR narrative at the time.
Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
PN ps Yes, Elizabeth Doria, Doria Elizabeth doesn't run together does it? Lili Doria, Doria Lili..... what about Meghan Doria as a tribute to the most important one?

Prince Andrew appears to have lost his place in the succession due to Lili Marlene.

Step back, back a bit more, a bit more,THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex will take “several months” of parental leave to spend time with their newborn daughter, The Telegraph understands.

Well it will not be written in English for starters.
Oh dear never mind.Meghan Markle's first book fails to top the bestseller list: The Bench doesn't make the top 200 on Amazon UK - while Kate Middleton's Hold Still photography book reached number two on the day it was released

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Newspaper columnist Julie Burchill says she has been “sacked” by the Daily Telegraph, a day after after tweeting a racist comment about the name of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter, Lilibet.
The Brighton-based writer made the announcement on her Facebook page on Tuesday.
“I’ve been sacked by the Telegraph – it’s been a lovely five years, and I’ll always be grateful to them for ending my wilderness years,” she wrote.
After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the arrival of their second child on Sunday, Ms Burchill tweeted: “What a missed opportunity! They could have called it Georgina Floydina!”
The post was met with a backlash on social media, where it was described as “disgusting racism” and “despicable”. A barrister who tweeted an offensive joke in response to Burchill’s post was suspended from her job on Monday and apologised.

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
This is a good write up by Jan Moir on their choice of name for their daughter. Next thing they will be using it for marketing.
