Chaos in Oireland.

#1 Post by barkingmad » Wed Feb 05, 2020 9:33 am

Forgive me but for those amongst us interested in European issues I wondered whether it was time we kept half an eye on what’s happening on the western border of the UK.

Here’s an opener by way of a briefing as to events next weekend in the Emerald Isle. Depending on how the result pans out it could affect how the dreaded Brexit process drags out and the future of NornIron also.

Hopefully, they’ll boot out the gay Russian. The prospect of handing over 9 billion of whatever they use for money, instead of receiving it may concentrate a few minds.

And I suspect that there are more than a few who are still pissed off at having to keep voting until the powers that be got the ‘correct’ result on the EU referendum.

Whilst I would not be happy seeing Sinn Fein taking control, it is their country. And, deep down, I suspect that even they acknowledge the extensive ties with the UK, ie, knowing which side of their bread is buttered!

Sise, the “gay Russian” is actually half Oirish and half Indian of Mumbai stock.
Either way he may have more time soon to spend with his family as the novelty and poor performance domestically seems to have worn off some of the gloss;

You mean as “Russian” as this name;?

Whoever would have imagined our current Czar is actually Teutonic by ancestry?

Regardless of the name of the next leader of the Oirish governing party I think # 10 Downing Street would be wise to keep an eye on the future administration of the UK’s only land border with our late-lamented ‘partners’ in the EUSSR?

My antennae detect seismic rumblings best not ignored;

https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics ... -brexit-uk

As per GE UK 2019 looks like they’re in for a shock west of the Isle of Man.

I know opinion polls get it wrong sometimes but the noise is increasing;

It all starts to kick off tomorrow 8th Feb, so don’t take yer eyes off the ball.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-51392102

The result will probably affect what remains of the UK and might increase the creaking noises detectable in the EUSSR.

This sort of stuff makes the Brexit referendum’s worst publicity seem tame in comparison!

https://www.irishtimes.com/news/politic ... -1.4163679

Let’s just hope the Irish don’t go down that route again, but with Brexit threatening the existing “soft” Border the risk is definitely there.

Also any move towards unification after a referendum on that topic will simply replace the militant active service IRA with the Loyalist equivalent who will resist under the “No Surrender” warcry.

I trust our illustrious leaders in Downing Street have taken such a possibility into account in their deliberations?

Exit polls giving main 3 parties 22% each, independent party 11% and drib-drabs from the rest.

Coalition talks could be entertaining, oh to be a fly on the wall!

Some reports that Varadkar is “humiliated” by the results, if so he’s like the rest of the Euro-elite and failed to detect the rumblings beforehand. Is this the sharpest we can get in European politics?

https://www.rte.ie/news/election-2020/2 ... -analysis/

The item contains an interesting pie-chart question “When did you make your mind up how to vote”, the results of which-if true- need to be heeded by other political establishments for incorporation in their next elections.

The prospect of the political wing of a known terrorist organisation playing a part in the administration of a EUSSR country with a UK land border may exercise some of the minds in the Westminster Government assuming there are any thinkers there?

So the G E dust is finally starting to settle and as was forecast, the political wing of the IRA has won significant votes though not an overall majority. The cattle-trading amongst the 3 main parties starts but apparently months will elapse before some sort of coalition is formed.
Meanwhile the British PM simultaneously decides a bridge-tunnel connection between the north of Ireland and the Scottish coast would be worth spending some millions for a feasibility study.
If a Border poll (unity referendum) is held in Ireland and they unite and the Jockistanis get their way then what price a vehicle and rail connection between 2 non-UK countries?
Or is that part of the master plan in Downing Street which so far is baffling and irritating many of those in England, Wales and Scotland who’ve just seen north of £100,000,000,000 allocated to this stinking H2S rail farce? I despair........

Poacher turned gamekeeper in Oireland!!

https://www.irishnews.com/news/northern ... s-1743686/

There has been a spate of cartoons and photographs depicting the aftermath of these crimes in the Emerald Isle but now it looks like Sinn Fein are taking it seriously as a means of fundraising without all the administrative burdens as befits a EU country?

Well that’s a relief! And I thought the UK was going to be lonely and cold outside the warm charitable embrace of the EUSSR but it seems our ‘backstop’ neighbours are not as blissfully happy as we’d believed.

http://www.thecommentator.com/article/7 ... rty_leader

Just wait til the next years’ contributions to the Brussels champagne fund hit them with reality then maybe the NornIron Border problem will solve itself?

I just hope for the sake of Paddy and Fianulla that their escape isn’t as tortuous and drawn-out like that of the UK but alas they’ve got their own large quota of Remoaners.

Oh deep joy, imagine the security implications of this one?!

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-famil ... rst-royal/

Unless they’ve gone to persuade Leo and his successor to join the UK in the EUSSR escape pod but somehow I doubt it.

But then Randy Andy has been extensively employed in the sandpit, until recently, helping to flog Brit Kit so it’s just possible..... ^#(^

I wonder in which other countries being 'hothoused' is causing grief such as this?

I imagine Russia is quite high on the list. It's endemic anyway, so this can only make it worse.

Some facts from across the water, from an island anchored off the European mainland with broadly similar genes;

https://www.gov.ie/en/news/7e0924-lates ... ronavirus/

Interesting to note the median age for deaths. But a much easier to read summary of what’s going on than the various UK websites, unless someone can direct me to similar straightforward presentation?

Men and women, save maybe for rigorously psychologically assessed astronauts, submarine crews or maybe just the lust lorn in their first week of a relationship, were not meant to spend any length of time in each other's close company!

Sad to read the report above.

So saying I am shocked to find that my better half and I are finding time to talk to each other and even laughing together again! Whatever next?
