Spill is on. News conference on now.

It was always going to be the the way, the perfumed yuppie princess from the west and Turnbull have been undermining from the start. Tony goes I'll be voting for the party with the wife cheating accused rapist as leader.

Well, I think Abbott brought it on himself. He really needed to talk to others and consult more.
I expected more of him.

What a bunch of silly buggers! And what a disappointment from showing so much promise.

I think Shorten should be worried.

I'm sure he did, but just not with the yuppie side of his party. This has been a slow burn and much lie the Labor party trick on Rudd but with and inverse for leader, thats why they will get away with it.

If the Nats and real conservatives libs side have any balls they will pull out and force return to the polls.

I expected more of him.

You expected to much. Tony was never much or a PR man. As the saying goes you are only as good as the people beneath you no matter what your leadership style is. As I said in the other place, he has had one or two snakes in the grass since day one making sure he didn't get a free run, that should not be rewarded

I like Julie, but that in no way illusions me to what she is. She has no more in common to the average people, their aspirations than Pleibesek and Wong. In fact if you want someone who understands the "average womans" issues, then Abbott and cough Shorten would have to be closer to the mark than those three.

I said on the "other place" a while ago that Tony had some one very close to him who was against him, I guess we know who that was. Turnbull was the obvious so he just had to sit back and let the allies do the work.

I think he had to go. But Turnbull as his replacement???? Very disappointed to hear that Scott Morison has switched to Turnbull's camp. I can't help but feel that many who have aligned themselves with Turnbull will quickly learn that "careful what you wish for" can carry a very nasty sting in its tail. I believe the man will be an unmitigated disaster - and that the honeymoon given him by the MSM will be very, very brief.

They loved him while be was the Liberal leader in waiting. He will become the enemy the moment he becomes the Liberal leader no longer in waiting.

The best thing Turnbull has going for him is that he's not Abbott. The second best thing is that he's not Shorten.

I fear for this Country. I really do!

We do not have any Statesmen, only chair warmers, time servers and ambitious, obscenely wealthy, out of touch with the average Aussie, egotists.

54 to 44 is NOT a big win by any means.

Here we go, here we go forone mor turn
We can shake, we can shake the trees and earth
We can spin, We can spin and not fall down
Hold on tight, we can both become unwound
You and I are going out
And we're dancing in the storm

54-44 is plenty big enough for a challenger. Maybe not enough for the one being challenged, but this time round it's fine.

My personal preference would be Abbott, but I think this at least means it will be a 2-term government. For all the good Abbott has achieved Turnbull will be more popular.
