“Wash hands” written in the sky above Sydney! I luvvit!!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-aus ... ove-sydney

Reminds me of the phallic artworks displayed in the sky over various RAF stations during the Cold War.

The travel insurers Aviva, InsureandGo and the Post Office have followed LV and withdrawn cover for future coronavirus claims.

This evening's bus journey home across the City in London offered ample scope for observing empty pubs (none) and people therein observing a one metre distance from each other (none). If anything the jollification was greater than usual. We are being subject to utter bullsh*t which most people are treating with the contempt it deserves.

The authorities have shut all the schools in Catalunia. All. North of Girona city there isn't a single case of beer virus, and at last looks there were only 2 in Girona.

Tom and Rita Hanks tested positive for the Corona virus. Tom Hanks reported "we felt a bit tired, like we had colds and some body aches. Rita had chills that came and went, slight fevers too". (Evening Standard)

If they'd had the four-week Spanish Virus that the OFSO's had, they'd have known what real suffering is...

I hope whoever is left alive after this cataclysm can sort out the stats ‘twixt those who succumbed to Covid19 and the normal winter ‘flu deaths.
Meanwhile the usual road traffic accident casualties continue to mount as do the falling down stairs/steps fatalities.

What would be the point? Are you going to start a court case about it and sue someone? A death is a death, from whatever cause. All we know is that more people will die this winter than 'usual'. This is pretty-well a 'one-off' (hopefully!) for 2020 so I'm not sure any analysis is going to be worth the toilet paper it is written on.

boac, I just hope I’m around afterwards to peruse the stats. What makes you think I want to sue anyone? That only makes lawyers wealthier and that’s agin my religion.

And there won’t be much toilet paper on which to write so I presume we’ll use the stocks of vellum in the HoC archives for bum-wiping? A suitable way of reforming legislation, of which there is too darn much.

"What makes you think I want to sue anyone?" - why else bother to sort out the stats?

The Today program on BBC radio 4 is at it again this morning, presenters trying to put words into guests mouths when they don't get the answer they want to their questions on the Crysiss.( or what their editors want).

Here in Oz we have the (below) following a front bencher testing positive...

Standard protocol as recommended by health authorities is that anyone who has come into contact with a person who has a confirmed case of coronavirus should self-isolate for 14 days.

And then this....

Scott Morrison will not self-isolate despite coming into contact with Peter Dutton earlier this week, after receiving advice from health authorities.

The Home Affairs Minister tonight confirmed he has been diagnosed with coronavirus and has been hospitalised.

He was at Tuesday's Cabinet meeting in Canberra, which was attended by the PM.

“In advice provided to the Prime Minister this evening, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer has reiterated that only people who had close contact with the Minister in the preceding 24 hours before he became symptomatic need to self-isolate,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

“That does not include the Prime Minister or any other members of the Cabinet.”

The Telegraph contributes to the confusion too. They said before should stay at home for 7 days if they caught the virus. The PM actually said for at least days. What a difference a word makes.

Sir Patrick Valley said we can't ask pensioners to stay at home for 3 months. The Telegraph said 'could be told '. A world of difference and they write what fits what they think.

Just back from grocery store(s) x 3. Just after Trump declared National Emergency.
No: canned beans
TP, tissues, napkins
ramen, pasta
Isopropyl alcohol, sanitizer, aloe vera gel
flour, sugar
A little milk and bread left.
Every store packed and looked like a war zone! :((

Local place was out of rice and beans but had TP on the shelves. Fresh produce still fully stocked, presumably because it is perishable.

So what has happened to Atom Kraft? I do hope he's not fallen to the virus.
Persuading working people to vote against their own best interests is the primary focus of conservative politics.
