I se a new pikey law is coming out this week, if they trespass on private land and don't leave when requested they can be fined £2500 and have their vehicles and caravans confiscated. They will also be responsible for cleaning any mess they make.

Good luck with that!
I think that should be in the joke thread,

Vaccinated in our own prison.
If UK meets its target of vaccinating 'everyone' over 18, given many my not ve vaccinated, by xxxxxx date, but ahead of poor countries like France and Spain, will international travel resume?
Despite being vaccinated, would people want to travel to a plague hot-spot in the Costa?
Would it be much fun flaunting you passport and mask free on the beach?
Or would you be subjected to the same restrictions as the natives?

I guess the answer to the first is yes, given what happened last summer.
I think the answer to the second is no. And you might be subject to curfew too.

And in UK much the same during roll out. Those vaccinated could not be distinguished from those yet to be. Only by applying the hygiene rules for some time will be bring down deaths.
Why are the vaccinating cohort 3 when cohort 1 is only about 50%. What percentage of each cohort is expected?

My daughter has sets on grandparents in law. One set in cohorts 1/2 have not been vaccinated. They had a vaccination slot but it clashed with an ASDA home delivery, so they cancelled the slot.

It seems that a lot of older people are expecting to go on holiday sooner rather than later; https://www.theguardian.com/business/20 ... avel-hopes.

Good news for the holiday companies, but I wouldn't be booking anything if I was in their shoes. [-X It;s early days and too early to plan anything even if the UK is in the lead as regards vaccination IMHO. [-(

Spot on, they just haven't thought it through. Back last May we cancelled our cruise for October just in case it went ahead anyway. We used the transfer option and rebooked in anticipation that travel restrictions would be lifted and risks reduced.
We are cautionously hopeful that we will be able to go. We booked for March 2022. Our pay decision point is December.

Apparently, according to Brandon Lewis (Northern Ireland Minister) on ITV this morning, it is 'OK' to make an international comparison on the UK's vaccination rates but NOT 'OK' to do the same with our death rates. ~X(

Well this is great; www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-916288 ... 0-arrivals . If you tried that here you would not be allowed into the country if non citizen or resident, and if citizen or resident thrown into a goverment quarantine centre for 14 days at your own expense. [-(

I booked this year's August holiday (taking the grandsons) during November. I'm not cancelling because if we can't go as scheduled, we'll be offered either a full refund or a later booking. It's something to look forward to and as it's in the UK I'm fairly confident that it will happen. No pissing about with quarantine entering/leaving a foreign country (not that we intend going anywhere near Wales/Scotland ;))) ).
It's always my fault - SWMBO

4ma, in our case the 125% would have been worth about £1200 but we would have had to put up about £5000 first. As we were not willing to pay that last summer and are of an age where we might not be fit in a year or mores time we only risk our deposit.

And China has only 98,000 cases and 5,000 dead? Yeah....
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".

Dushan what's wrong with that? If you have only a few hundred millions it's easy to ciunt66 but if you have billions and someone knocks your abacus you can soon lose count

So with only 88,000 cases and 4,600 deaths, how many isolation units would be needed?
Up to 3,000 Covid isolation units are being installed in record time by workers near Shijiazhuang city in the Hebei province of China. In just five days, a brown field site has become a small prefabricated town to put into quarantine those suspected of carrying the virus. Interior decorators are now adding the finishing touches.
The site was brown field 5 days ago, today it is a city. The first picture in the Telegraph shows no ground works just concrete being laid on level ground.
Today there are hundreds of buildings but no evidence of groundwork for utilities or sewage.
A block of 28 units, each with what looks like a drive through centre, has 14 rectangular units, or 392 units per block. At least two full units are visible and bits of more.

If you were diagnosed with Covid in the first 14 days after admission or left hospital without Covid, you didn't get it here Chief.
Jeremy Hunt, chairman of the health and social care select committee, said: “This is a very curious decision [by NHS England] that will artificially suppress the true rate of hospital-acquired Covid cases. They are already shockingly high and we still need to do much better although the vaccination of front-line staff should make a big difference.”

Don't you love wee Jimmy
But she was forced to deny her government is failing to distribute the vaccine to GPS quickly enough. Challenged repeatedly to explain why GPs were running out when more than 400,000 doses were unused, she blamed the UK Government for leaking the figure and accused it of having a “hissy fit” over her administration publishing confidential supply statistics last week.

After Patrick Vallance's comments today about the vaccine, I think it is urgent that Boris Johnson speak to the Nation to tell us what purpose the vaccine has?

It doesn't stop transmission.

It doesn't stop you catching Covid.

It doesn't allow the lifting of any of these destructive measures.

It doesn't allow those in Care Homes to see their families again.

The only thing it does is possibly reduce symptoms.

Please tell us why you want us to receive this vaccine? What is the benefit to anyone under the age of 70 without a co-morbidity?
