I examined that footage of the Health Secretary and any right thinking intelligent adult can ignore the gutter press, such as the Telegraph, and see it for what it is.

The poor girl has unexpectedly encountered the Presence and swooned. The quick thinking Minister, with lightning fast reactions, has caught hold as her knees buckled.

Grasping her closely to stop her falling and injuring herself, he noticed she had stopped breathing and he had to administer immediate mouth to mouth resuscitation without pausing to lay her gently on the carpet.

Once the immediate emergency had passed he no doubt laid her gently on the ground, but out of camera shot, whilst he loosened her clothing

In justifying the draconian quarantine and testing regs. for people arriving from Europe, it's interesting to note the cases per 100k on Google right now.
UK 21.9
Belgium 4.7
France 2.7
Germany 0.8 (really?)
Portugal 13.7
Catalunia 9.6
No figure for Spain
Italy 1.2
No figure for Greece

Good on Addenbrooks; https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-add ... 0-12344508 :YMAPPLAUSE:

Now wouldn't it be nice if instead of telling hospitals to do their own thing, the powers that be in the so called Department of Health actually made a policy of providing this higher grade PPE to all people working with COVID19 patients. :ymsigh:

Mrs ExA, like a standard scaling, a centralised order, stock and control system, and a national supply network where a surplus at one place could be moved to another such as used by your former employer?

Unlike each Trust with its own purchasing budget and often competing against other trusts?

And perhaps a standard international stock coding system?

Supporting Mrs. Ex Ascot's apt comment. Well done Addenbrookes for truly taking a scientific approach: observe, analyse, stick to the logical conclusion (rinse and repeat).

How can the IPC get away with this cop out? What is the point of this layer of bureaucracy forcing a centralized solution then waving its hands saying "work it out for yourselves?"

Until recently, the UK Infection Prevention Control cell (IPC) only recommended using FFP3 masks when carrying out aerosol-generating procedures - such as inserting a breathing tube into a patient's windpipe.

But now the IPC requires NHS organisations to carry out their own risk assessments and use FFP3 respirators where they deem appropriate.

The NHS is simply too big. Lots of real estate (Jim Hacker) with lots of foot staff, cleaners, porters, assistants, nurses (well perhaps not the later), doctors ditto, and managers (not ditto).

The latter believes that their remuneration should be on a power with top medical staff pay.

Our NHS Trust leader has hardly a qualification to his name. Compare his pay/car/qualification etc with a surgeon.
