I have flown to Ostend (DVR, EBFN (Koksidje), EBOS) a couple of times and caught the train into Bruges. Last time I was in Bruges I was berated by a cantankerous old woman in Flemish for being a tourist who didn't abide by the rules relating to walking on the pavement (i.e. jaywalking). As there were no cars or traffic on the street I told her my opinion of her advice in Afrikaans, which is very similar to the dialect there! You should have seen her face... she clearly never expected that from a British tourist!Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 7:25 amRemember Leclerc from Hello Hello? We saw his double in Bruges. He had this musical hand cart. He sat by it and turned a handle and a collection of wheels, pulleys and so on played quite passable music. He had a hat on the box for money and lacked only a monkey.
Idle thought, did they make these things just so little old men could sit in the street, playing music and collecting money from passing German soldiers?

TGG a beer or more is on me when we meet for the way you respond to the old woman.
Cape, funny thing is my second aunt is a French teacher my father's first cousin. A lovely lady by all means I did ask her about the chemicals in the water to make them nasty. She was kind like most people from my father's side of the family. But thanks for the correction.
Some French ladies are hot.

Loved the letter in yesterday's Telegraph by a 14 year old boy. He pointed out that cricket is the most socially distant sport you can have. Even the stands are large enough to accommodate just about anyone who wants to watch. His punchline was good: he will be of voting age come the election.ian16th wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 8:04 pmTheir cricket team are being tested before they leave! and weakened as a result.Capetonian wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 7:47 pmhttps://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/0 ... -pakistan/Exclusive: Half of UK’s imported Covid-19 infections are from Pakistan

Whilst I recognise the need to act positively in order to regenerate the economy, the borrowings anticipated seem to be on a scale akin to the cost of a war.
No doubt the money will be forthcoming.

Indeed, At the height of the crisis when Islington Council was in panic mode, notices on the Courts by Rosemary Park asked players to refrain from handling one another's balls.

When trying to have Golf courses opened, the local golf pressure group said the population density was like having 2 players on a rugby pitch!

The ball is rarely handled by more than 10 people per innings. Provided they don't touch their faces and the umpires could carry wipes.

Re: Coronabollocks..
Number 1 item on Beeb News website this morning says half of one million deaths worldwide from Covid-1984 so far.
World population seven thousand eight hundred million as of 2020.
When I try to divide 0.5 into 7,800 without a calculator my brain fades.
Am I missing something? Apart from not being a maths guru...
I must rush out and buy a gross of face masks and some gallons of bleach asap!

Leicester back in lockdown - the argument outlined by Hancock in the HoC seemed convincing.

G CPTN, how do they propose to implement it? By all accounts, many older citizens do not understand English. For those that chose to go the pub, a simple matter of crossing the street to the next district. At least many of the citizens there will not be pub goers.
I guess the major control will be to keep the curry houses, mosques and clothes shops shut. If public transport is stopped and crowd control enforced it may well work.

Re: Coronabollocks..
The local councillor interviewed on BBC East Midlands Today who commented about his community members who do not understand English also commented on the overcrowding caused by several generations sharing a home. It's the cultural behaviour elephant in the room that the right-on MSM and politicians won't dare address or acknowledge as a potential source of further outbreaks. Why am I not surprised that it's the east side of Leicester where there's a surge in infection rates?G-CPTN wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 8:39 pmQuite.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 8:31 pmG CPTN, how do they propose to implement it? Re: Coronabollocks..
I once got a fit of the giggles when filing an airborne IFR flightplan which included Koksy.
VOR morse was KOK.
I speak morse, and I was mutitaskingly identing it at the time and it made I larf.
It was a James May moment, but 'twas n'est pas lui.
