Oh F F S ! ! Can we keep the constantly erupting UK v USA war inside the “Hamster Wheel” boundary and get back to Covidballs?!
BM-you might want to have a quiet chat with Bo as he tends to turn any thread into something to blame Trump about

I suppose most people have figured it out for themselves by now, but for any who haven't it's clear that ALL of us are going to have to take our chances with the Coronabollocks sooner or later.

The only alternatives would be:
1. A vaccine, and that's a year away.
2. Indefinite lockdown. Which, IMHO is unsustainable for more than a few weeks.

Seen - like Ben, I do think you need some help. No-one has any idea what you are blathering about there. The only diversion into US politics I can see is:

I don't really think taking our chances 'with the Coronabollocks sooner or later' is actually that much of a concern. Catching it is mostly unpleasant and moderately painful, but only for those with weakened immune systems or an underlying, normally respiratory, condition can it normally be serious - as with 'normal' flu.

Once the current 'surge' caused by the idiots who would not stop pubbing, dining and mingling has passed I'm sure the NHS can cope with those badly affected, and hopefully the idiots will learn not to spread the virus quite so readily.

I have no intrntion of catching this virus if I can help it. My experience of Type A Flu some years back was enough of a wake up call. Two days of hallucinations and misery... not good.

I don't think it's such a worry.
Somewhere between a quarter and a third will get ill. So 2/3rds to 3/4 completely unaffected.
Most will have mild symptoms, many will 'have a dose of the 'flu'
More than 99% of those who get it will survive.
The fraction who die- way under 1%, had probably stopped buying return tickets anyway....

Normal death toll in India- its where I am- is c.22,500 each day.
So in a typical month, about 697,500.

Deaths attributed to Coronabollocks so far- roughly a months worth......51.

Of that 51, how many were hanging on by their fingertips anyway, I wonder?

I maintain this Global Panic is way out of line, we are bankrupting our Countries in a futile attempt to control the uncontrollable.

Atom, the panic I believe is largely due to the media over inflating the issues to support their desired political outcomes. It is dangerous that the media would prefer financial collapse just to prove that they were right.

I agree Seen, but the whole world has ***** it's pants now, and there's no stopping them.

I feel a need to express my dissatisfaction with the turn of events.

"People are constantly amazed at how much I know about this." a touch self praising.Maybe the title Professor would be more appropriate in your case Dr Bo.

He's not at all like the Turk in My Family and Other Animals...

My Family and Other Animals...
'He's on holiday here,' announced Margo suddenly, as though it was something quite unique.

'Really?' said Larry waspishly. 'On holiday? Amazing!'

'I had a holiday once,' said Leslie indistinctly through a mouthful of cake; 'remember it clearly.'

Mother rattled the tea-things nervously, and glared at them.

'Sugar?' she inquired fruitily. 'Sugar in your tea?'

'Thank you, yes.'

There was another short silence, during which we all sat and watched Mother pouring out the tea and searching her mind desperately for a topic of conversation. At length the Turk turned to Larry.

'You write, I believe?' he said with complete lack of interest.

Larry's eyes glittered. Mother, seeing the danger signs, rushed in quickly before he could reply.

'Yes, yes,' she smiled, 'he writes away, day after day. Always tapping at the typewriter.'

'I always feel that I could write superbly if I tried/ remarked the Turk.

'Really?' said Mother. 'Yes, well, it's a gift, I suppose, like so many things.'

'He swims well,' remarked Margo, 'and he goes out terribly far.'

'I have no fear,' said the Turk modestly. 'I am a superb swimmer, so I have no fear. When I ride the horse, I have no fear, for I ride superbly. I can sail the boat magnificently in the typhoon without fear.'

He sipped his tea delicately, regarding our awestruck faces with approval.
Now that's modesty for you... =))

Dragging us back to the topic and hoping to leave UK v US relations brewing in another cask elsewhere, here's a dissenting voice, from the Right of course, but maybe food for thought over the home-prepared fish 'n chips this evening and it's audio only so you won't risk shaking the ketchup over the dog or the baby or the wife;

Especially suitable for sad ould buggers like me home alone and nobody with whom I can discuss/argue/start nuclear war etc. :ymdevil:
