I am not a Pom Ben and I will not lie back and think of England.
No, you're a Sheep Shagger so we know what you think of when you lie back.
Nick, you have obviously done it before... =))

Time has come to completely ignore the worst of the USA and embrace the best of its many good people...
Seems anytime I meet some their only topic of conversation is how can they immigrate to NZ! :(

And why wouldn't one! It is a clearly good place, with good people, a good aviation scene, sensible leader (breast feeds publicly as well. For what it is worth, I approve), produces prodigious yachtsmen and women that kick American arse!

There is only one downside, and that is they can't seem to beat the Saffers in Rugby Union World Cup... =))

I am teasing. In fact I am truly sorry that I don't live in your country...

I am sure...

My half sister lives in Auckland...

I suspect I would like the Queenstown part of the Southern Island...

I must admit I don't know.

Last time I saw her was in 1989. She is a senior theater sister in a hospital in Auckland having married some yachting wastrel from Birmingham in the UK (go figure) who she has just divorced. They have two kids. Our common father is dead. I am still in touch with her mom here in the UK.

I'd like to see her again.

Queenstown area is very pleasant indeed but being heavily dependent on tourism the real estate is way over priced and right now they are all on the streets with their begging bowls, not really but they are pressing for support to keep their now dormant enterprises afloat.

An old school ex-friend, we went to school together in Johannesburg, English bloke, a pilot, owns a couple of aircraft in Queenstown. It looks wonderful.

Sadly we have fallen out of over Brexit.

We are both as stubborn as each other. So it goes...

I remember NZQN as a grass paddock with a single sealed runway, a few corrugated iron buildings and an Aeradio station in a modified caravan. Bit different now.

Ships that carry trade to or from the DPRK are liable to be seized by US pirates. Ship Wise Honest for example.
I thought we were talking about NZ shipping goat cheese to the chicomms.

Here, let me refresh your rather porous memory:-
We may be free to trade with China right now but whenever Agent Orange wants to mess with them, sanctions, tariffs etc we feel the ripples. If he makes it hard for us to send milk products to China who should I feel angry with?
Do you not understand that I am concerned that Trump may extend the *sh*t* the US plays with North Korea to other countries, China for example. That is not the world I would like us to leave to following next generations.
Of course you wouldn’t. I, OTOH, would be quite happy if the Norks and the Chicomms are not part of that future.

On the other hand I am sure you would be quite happy with a world of Orwell's perpetual war.

Wouldn't be happy, but if that's the price of having principles*, then so be it.

* Having a deep seated hatred of socialists/communists resulting from living under such regimes, not just guided by "minders".

It is not just "Socialists/Communists" you hate but anyone with whom war would suit your interests. Sometimes war as a diversion and always profitable.

And you, once agin despite how much it pains you, have to thank Americans for that.
If it wasn’t for them, the war would have gone on, for ever And you would have not been "post war".

Standby for another exciting issue of "HOW AMERICA WON THE WAR!"
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ ... WorldWarII

That's WWII of course although they have been fighting wars almost continually ever since WWII was the last time they were on the winning side.
