There are risks everywhere. Some people are afraid to fly, yet the journey to the airport is more dangerous. Sitting in the middle of a wide open space, you could get struck by lightning or a meteor. We like to assume our homes are safe, bu9t they can catch fire, in some areas there could be an earthquake or tornado, and in this instance there was major structural weakness. If you've never heard of Ronan Point, go look that one up.

construction defects (failure to build as designed) had left unfilled gaps between floors and walls throughout, hidden only by skirting boards and ceiling paper

He said you could look from the ceiling joint of one apartment into the floor of the next.

Note that the floor is resting on a hardboard pad.Modify a washer used to fit a gascooker and away we go...
