True, they generally shunted the dullard off to the clergy!
This premise was taken to its sublime denouement in the classic film...
"The Bishop of Matabeleland..."
True, they generally shunted the dullard off to the clergy!
My quote was made to infer that Trump was acting in a Godly manner by usurping the Church to infer that the people should 'listen to him'.

To have his minions teargas peaceful protesters to clear the road to enable him to walk across to a church, where he stood with a Bible, unbelievable. He is not a regular churchgoer and his pronouncements are the antithesis of everything a Christian believes in. What could he have hoped to achieve. I am beginning to believe he his seriously deranged.
I can relate to what you say in some way. I was for a time a believer and a regular church goer. I am now an agnostic but believe the questions of morality, ethics and life raised by the religious impulse are fundamentally important and not to be ignored or belittled and feel that religion can still be a force for good in the world.Alisoncc wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 5:56 pmOver my lifetime there have been times when I have been quite religious, and it is something I take quite seriously.
