"Seattle to end 'CHOP,' return police to cop-free zone after shootings, mayor announces"

Let us see how well this one works out for the Mayor.

Had to laugh this morning as players and management at Burnley F.C. said they are 'ashamed and saddened' after someone towed a banner over their ground inscribed 'White lives matter, Burnley'.

How can it possibly be the case that putting 'Black lives matter' on the players shirts is so admirable, but the white lives matter comment in the air is so despicable?

This idiot BLM stuff is ill-founded.

Maybe more effective if the banner had read “White Lives Don’t Matter”?

Whomsoever did this must be rubbing their hands with glee at the furore raised by those complaining at the stunt. If they were smart (!) the BLM side would accept the incident being reported then turn the other way and stop making a fuss.

As it is, the current whingeing coupled with “the police are going to investigate” means even more publicity for this stunt and feeds straight into the tense atmosphere which the far-right are generating following the outbreak of the BLM protests.

Better just to STFU, ignore it and carry on waving placards and toppling statues...

I presume the banner tow was conducted IAW current CAA Regs so how will UK Plod manage to crap over the pilot and their paymasters? [-X

On the subject of the banner flying, I can't imagine that the culprits give a stuff about being banned from Burnley footie club. Especially as they got totally wopped 5 - nil. =))

Purpose: to keep whites...white.

How come it is racist to fly a 'White Lives Matter' banner from an aircraft, but it is not racist for all the footballers below to be wearing t -shirts declaring 'Black Lives Matter' :-\

Our nearby town has a statue of a Boer War soldier from a local family who died in 1901 at the Battle of Bakenlaagte.
It has stood in a prominent position since 1904. The Town Council are now discussing whether the statue should remain as he was complicit in filling concentration camps with the wives and children of farmers so that African gold and diamonds could enrich the British Empire.- though there are few residents aware of his actions.
The whole English nation should cower in shame for all of that... [-X
Not sure why I should cower in shame for something that was done by people who are now long dead. I know, I won't cower in shame at all.

A throwaway line from UK MSM this morning states Bleeding Glimpses of the Obvious. Greater Manchester Plod has investigated the banner incident at the footie match and found no crime was committed, nothing to see here, move along please etc.

This is something most of us on O-N could have told them in seconds, so I wonder how much effort and expense was allocated and consumed in investigating this non-crime, non-offence.

I also think questions should be asked of Blackpool Airport management as to under which legislation they banned banner-towing operations from their ‘field and has such a ban been rescinded? Once again corporations are allowing themselves to get caught up in the rush to be seen to be PC and ‘woke’ and empathising with this BLM organisation whose avowed aim is to overthrow capitalism-a strange form of capitalist slow suicide.

Lancashire Police have apparently decided that despite the cries of injustice from the BLM supporters, Blackpool Council (from where the aircraft operated) and the gutter press, no offence was committed by flying "that banner" over the Emptihead Stadium.

In ZA now, if you refer negatively to the post 1994 government for **** up the country and imposing greater hardship andsuffering than ever on its people, you are considered racist by some people.
I suppose in that context I must then be racist, along with 90% of the population.
The 10% are those who have profited under the new regime, i.e. those who've been given a place at the trough to stick their snouts in.
Of the 90%, it's only the 10% or so who are white who are racist, as blacks can't be racist, apparently the colour of their skin ensures that.

Jeremy Taylor's lovely song Ag pleeze Deddy must be racist too :
Popcorn, chewing gum, peanuts an' bubble gum
Ice cream, candy floss an' Eskimo Pie
Ag Deddy how we miss
Nigga balls an' licorice
'Nigger Balls' were a type of gobstopper. Ironically, the word 'nigger' has never been conmmonly used in South Africa.
Noun
niggerball (countable and uncountable, plural niggerballs)
(South Africa, dated, countable) A large black sweet.
(uncountable, derogatory, offensive, ethnic slur) The sport of basketball.
Usage notes
Because of the term's offensive connotations, the sweets were renamed in the 1980s to blackballs.
