I fear that it is a little late for that.

At the risk of doing an Atomkraft, I guess we can start by metaphorically putting our Chinese made goods back in their boxes i.e. not buying Chinese made goods wherever possible. A small start and probably beats a precipitate fusing of a 20 Megaton bomb for an air burst over Beijing in the short term!

It has been said that America needs a good war every ten years to maintain their position as the world's policeman, perhaps China this time?
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

Unlikely, it's far safer to fight someone a fraction of their own size.

It's only surprising that there haven't been more wars between these two enormous, and diametrically different countries.
We can give thanks for that to the Himalayas, not politicians.
The trouble in Ladakh is that the border, unlike most borders, has never been drawn. It's disputed- as is most of Kashmir.
Reading TGGs link in the first post, it's clear this was a nasty skirmish.
The potential for calamity here is high. Both parties have nukes-as do the Pakis, and Covid seems to be tightening its bugsy grip in the area.
Mind you, the Chinks are short of friends these days, and India is implacable.
Maybe India will stick Chinky back in his box?

These high altitude mountain wars have always been ferocious...
Battle of San MatteoThe Battle of San Matteo took place in the late summer of 1918 on the Punta San Matteo (3,678 m) during World War I. It was regarded as the highest battle in history until it was surpassed in 1999 by the Kargil Conflict at 5,600 m.
