There is a possibility that Jagmeet feels empowered with recent poll numbers and thinks he may actually gain a few seats in an election called now. He himself will most likely keep his seat, anyway so the pension/Oct 2025 may no longer be in play. Maybe there will be a non-confidence vote in the house soon.

Unfortunately as of today we are using the newly outlined electoral districts which in some case are going to be confusing since there isn't even an incumbent MP.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".
