Veldschoen perhaps?
Sadly there is an absence of common sense. Please God spare Ops Normal from this plague.

Only in Namibia or in the Cedarburg in the Cape, where they produce the tyre soled veldschoen, which peeled off all the Goblin's toe nails in the Groot Winterhoek mountains back in the day. Kraut rubber and useless except as instruments of torture.
This bloke had a better experience with the Wuppies...

FFS.
But remember this: When Benjamnin Franklin said "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety", it was you lot he was talking about.

Re: Vaccination 'Passports'.
Where did I say I actually support vaccination passports? I simply asked for a proper definition of what the scope of such a "passport" might be, and what form it would take, so that we can have a logical, unemotional discussion about them. Without clarity we are getting aerated in a fog of misunderstanding without a clear frame of reference.
Calm down Atom... we need to think analytically and coolly about these matters!

Gob dear chap-
I'm sure if you just go with what you truly think is correct, over time you'll drift back from the somewhat lefty position you've adopted.
Please don't take that as a criticism- namby-pamby left wing views are practically de rigour these days.
You mistake me for a grumpy old bastard, but the truth is I'm one of the few people that is uninfluenced by the media- and also insists on speaking out about it (if we were face to face, you'd know it).
I watch, horrified, as our country and countrymen head happily down the ****, there to drown in a small puddle of their own gullibility.

I always carry 2 of them!
I have a hay fever type problem that causes random 'sneezing fits'.
I also wear specs and carry a clean hanky to clean them if I have a fit!

Me too - never without a hankie. I cannot imagine ribrash not needing one! Mind you, I don't know him/her.

The other thing- and it's quite relevant, is that even if you've had the jabs- and carry a Covid passport saying so.
You can still have it and still spread it.
So what's the bloody point?

Re: Vaccination 'Passports'.
TGG, late to the thread but your boots dit brings to mind my flying boots.
The first pair were '51 pattern with a nod to WW2 convertible boots. The foot part was like a conventional shoe to which was attached a cone shaped collar. This was not laced and you could tuck your flying suit into the collar or over the collar which was necessary for access to the pockets. It also improved the chances of retaining the boots after ejection. They had smooth soles. They were cumbersome, difficult to run in and impossible on mud. You wore them with two pairs of knitted woollen socks, one plain and one ribbed. Never found out which was the inner pair.
Then came the '67 pattern which were in use for over 30. I got my first pair in' 68 and my last pair in '81. I sold them on eBay after I retired in' 10.
Now they were comfortable and mine were size 6, two sizes smaller than normal. With the proper silicone polish, guarded by the equippers like hens teeth, they were also waterproof.
There was a distinctive light tread pattern that screamed 'British Aircrew' on any escape and evasion. The other EnE giveaway was the white para cord, black flecked and containing lots of small strands on nylon thread inside.
