Does anyone really care as to what Greta thinks or says? :-\

Don't think she would be missed Pinky,if she just faded into the past like yesterday's news.

The whole "Greta Thunberg" thing, can stand as a metaphor for all that's wrong these days.

It's not about the message, but about the messenger.

It's not about the facts, it's about who's presenting them.

Greta has been greeting on about the climate since she was about 15. Little girls don't know about anything, at 15- so WTF is anyone listening to her?

I confess to being baffled at the wankerish state of affairs these days, and this is but one example of it.

No!!.. and as an 18 year-old shouldn't she now be taking an interest in blokes.. although any sensible fella wouldn't go within 10 miles of her.

Thanks for the above replies; About what I suspected! I once wondered out aloud to the Lady formerly known as Mrs Pinky as to what is driving GT and how much money she is making acting as an 'activist.'

TLFKAMP quickly replied, "Her Parents, Heaps of money, and all for her Parents!" :-?

On another note; The SA State Government has recently had a fairly lengthy commercial placed on the 'Idiot Box' extolling all the jobs that will be created here in SA by their policies, amongst which, is a commitment to having the State fully reliant on renewable energy by oddly enough, an unmentioned date.

I don't mind if she took an interest on lasses. However I would like to have her Social Media manager who propelled her to fame to help my get a better job.

Regarding money and activism: you need to have your head checked if you spend you much time on activism and don't make a lot money. I still remember Capetonian who used to point out how charity executives insisted on flying First Class to Africa.

"Adapt or Die!" Is the latest shrill mantra.

OK, so let's adapt.

To assert that a complex thing like the climate can be reducted to "CO2 up, Temp up" is ludicrous.

Mankind, thanks be to God, is not in control of the climate.

Speaking at a meeting of European 'leaders', Angela Merkel said yesterday "Only unity can save Europe". From what? Disunity?

We are not even in control of the weather but consider this..

"Suppose I am relaxing on my lanai with cool beer to hand and I notice a dark cloud or two far to the south. So what do I do, sit in the shade drinking all afternoon or do I get my ladder and tools to make those urgent repairs to the roof that I have been putting off so long?"

Just drink your beer and stop worrying. Your skin is waterproof.

Offer to pay more carbon taxes. That will make the clouds go away.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".

Ah yes, rain is coming and you know the roof will leak but you are all too lazy or just plain stupid enough to not get up and nail the flapping roofing material.

Why not just accept that from time to time, things change?

Do you need to make the absolute more expensive, cumbersome repairs making necessary to stop working, meeting frineds? I still believe we can cut emissions without upsetting our standard of living too much. The local service responsible for running the traffic light system believes they run a competition on how many red lights can impose on drivers for each route - they don't care how the constant start and stop means on fuel consumption - oh wait more fuel consumpton more tax revenue.

I think that analogy has run its course.

The whole AGW thing is based on two principles:
1. We are in charge of the climate
2. We like it like it is.

But in fact:
1. We aren't (thank God).
2. It's always changed- get used to it.

See anything there you disagree with?

Are my posts too difficult for you to understand?

We cannot control the climate, we cannot even control the weather which will almost certainly change later today and there are things that should be done to prepare for it but you are an advocate for sitting on your arse, drinking beer.
