Re: Climate Crisis!!!!
If your predictions consistently fail, then your science is wrong.
If you ignore this, you are not doing science.
If you continue to claim the opposite, then you are a cult.
If you blame me for pointing this out, you can change the 'l' to an 'n'.

In the interests of helping you in these difficult times, but before we try to find your 'resident geek', can you clarify what you are posting about? Some sort of site malfunction?Dunno how this underline thing appeared, perhaps a resident geek could advise me?

When I posted the above, on my MacPro screen, there was a thick grey line at the end of the post, apparently heavily underlining the last line in the box.admin2 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 8:28 amIn the interests of helping you in these difficult times, but before we try to find your 'resident geek', can you clarify what you are posting about? Your witchcraft seems to have removed it as not visible on IPad.
Next time I have steam up and can ignite the MacPro, difficult in these freezing ambient temperatures, I will check to see if it’s still there.
Strange that the street is still covered in snow yet the local Stevenson screen sez it’s way above zero Celsius outside...

All I can recall from those dark days is what I think was called 'Boys ballets' law which said that "if you stand with your back to the wind on the east coast of England, the North Sea is on your left", or something like that.Howling Mad wrote:In Met lectures at aviation skule nearly half a century ago

Buys Ballot Boac (as you well know). If not, pole PT for you, for falling asleep during the relevant lecture (like I did in a radio lecture one hot summer's day in an airless canvass tent back in the long distant past, as I thought I might just close my eyes and...)!Boac wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 11:06 amAll I can recall from those dark days is what I think was called 'Boys ballets' law which said that "if you stand with your back to the wind on the east coast of England, the North Sea is on your left", or something like that.Howling Mad wrote:In Met lectures at aviation skule nearly half a century ago
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.
Re: Climate Crisis!!!!
OK - I admit it - as a former Met 'teacher' I was just teasing and trying to inject a little levity into his 'low pressure' existence

My ELR is becoming saturated with Climatebollocks but I found if one follows the money, as per the Plandemic scam, the real reasons for the peasants being oppressed rapidly becomes obvious;

Relax, it’s a relatively short read in English English and names some players in Project Fear Mk2 of whom you may not have heard.
The piece is similar to “A State of Fear”, the book by Laura Dodsworth which few here have bothered to read, judging by the impression I still have of O-N members cowering under the stairs etc and trotting off at the earliest opportunity to get ‘stabbed’ when summonsed by their “health” supremo.
Right, I’m off to move my Stevenson screen to a warmer location as it’s still indicating an OAT of -2* Celsius outside my kennel and that’s making me feel cold and worried about hypothermia.
But maybe splitting kindling and logs with an axe may help my metabolism and improve my mental health.

Btw, you're not tail wheel endorsed are you? 'Cos we could do with another Tug Pilot on the roster.
Tug is a 250hp Pawnee.

I doubt if my RAF Church Fenton 30hrs on the Chipmunk or far too many hours on the Mk2 taildragger Avro Shackleton would count for much in that job.
But you could always submit my CV for a laugh...

Re: Climate Crisis!!!!
In the red corner, we have this contestant, a well-known advocate of disaster scenarios;
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-42833178
And in the blue corner we have the other view of what's happening oop north;
https://dailysceptic.org/2022/12/15/arc ... hidden-it/
Still, we'd better keep schtum about it and let the Chinese waste a lot of effort and money on assuming they'll soon have clear passage for their nefarious intentions.
Some of us wrinklies here may remember the first time a submarine surfaced through the Arctic ice, a memorable event in those halcyon days of the Cold War.

Re: Climate Crisis!!!!
A new fear of Climate Change stalks the globe as the much-vaunted Ice Age prediction for the 1970s finally arrives somewhat overdue;
https://www.npr.org/2022/12/20/11443305 ... conditions
So standby for an important announcement from the UN/WHO/WEF/UNESCO/NATO etc etc. (Sorry, I've run out of acronyms and the will to live) or someone who professes to know all about the coming apocalypse. Cue the following appeal for more money to be channelled from the poor to the rich so's they can fly in to Davos to plan what they'll discuss next year;
https://news.un.org/en/story/2022/12/1131842
And all this following the extreme heatwave at RAF Coningsby this summer? No wonder I'm BM?!

Re: Climate Crisis!!!!
Well, at least I haven't read any media trying to blame the forecast "Winter storm of a lifetime" on Climate Change.
Yet.
You'll forgive me if nothing is heard for a few days, as it is due to hit me.
I have the highly disapproved of, but very common, solution consisting of a woodstove, candles, and huge quantities of alcohol.
