Mental Health....
FFS!
It's impossible to listen to the news, or indeed any factual programme for too long before hearing about some poor bastards deteriorating 'mental health' or some comment on one group or anothers' state of 'mental health'.
I've been mental for about 50 years, but I've never felt the need to broadcast it.
I don't know who started this new 'mental health' thing, but here's a few observations.
1. Nobody is interested in my 'mental health' and I don't give a flying fcuk about yours.
2. If your ''mental health' is *****, too bad. Try to do something about it yourself- don't bother the rest of us. Help isn't coming anyway!
3. Grow a pair. Masses of folk are deeper in the ***** than you are.
To quote the Queens Consort, 'Shut up- and just get on with it!'.
Bloody Nation of bedwetters.

Re: Mental Health....
Me too. Madder.
My MILs motto was "Pull yourself together and get on with it." Covered everything from a nervous breakdown to a broken leg. "Thank God, I thought there was something wrong with you" on arriving home with a dire diagnosis from the medicos.

Re: Mental Health....
I wonder what particular programme set our good friend Atom off this time?
Women, lunacy, the man's got it all going there!
What is normal I ask myself?

Re: Mental Health....
I mean.....what does it mean anyway?
I'm fed up?
I'm broke?
I'm depressed?
Nobody loves me?
I'm not getting any?
I've lost my job?
I'm unhappy?
Whatever it is, and I suppose I'm risking being labelled as unsympathetic here, the answer is the same- "FCUK OFF!"

Or 'you don't have to be mad to work here,
but it helps'
I do a survey. Are you fit?
Well no. I have some difficulty climbing stairs. My back hurts and I can't stand still. I can't run. After walking 3 miles I need a rest for half an hour.
I am nearer 80 than 70; what do I expect?

Re: Mental Health....
"Mental health issues" seemed to become the excuse de jour when followers of a certain religion of peace* started self-exploding, going stabby-stabby or getting rapey in our cities and the woke, right-on authorities didn't have the balls to confront the buggahs and deal with them properly in case they got offended.

Re: Mental Health....
Nobody loves me, everybody hates me think I'll go and eat worms.
Bit fat juicy ones, little thin skinny ones, see how they wriggle n squirm.
Bite off their heads, suck out the guts, throw the skins away,
Nobody knows how much I thrive on worms three times a day.
From memory.
What about the bloody worms 'mental health?'
We are turning into, nay- have become a nation of little girls.
Thank fcuk I've fcuked off!

Re: Mental Health....
AK, I think Harry probably got it right first time. Losing a limb or other disablement can give you a mental health problem. In the modern woke speak - a life changing injury.
Re: Mental Health....
I think we need an O-N equivalent of Godwin's Law:
"As an O-N topic progresses, the probability of a mention of Harry or Meghan becomes more likely."

Well, fellow campers, my own MH is fresh as a baby. I have the love of my slightly younger wife, cheap drink and have stopped working.

Re: Mental Health....
Agreed, Mental Health is top topic on NZ news and discussion groups, driving my mad ! ( e.g. mentally unhealthy )
Mind you - the NZ Budget was published two days ago, which proves that many politicians must have mental problems viz. they're all mad.

Re: Mental Health....
Our politicians are not mad, they know what gets them elected, for their term in the glow of adulation. The number of people on benefits of some sort will be forever grateful, and there are now more than ever.

I do believe one of the main causes of so many homeless people on the streets, and living in motels at taxpayers expense, was the short sighted view of shutting down all our mental hospitals, people could get treated for their problems without having to resort to living on the street and begging, something that never, or very seldom occurred fifty odd years ago when these establishments were still in operation. And remember, it was politicians that decided these establishments had to close,
