Who is this "Trump" these people are talking about?

Re: Great British News - GBN
Trump is the man who will not stand for President in the 2024 elections but whose endorsement will create the front runner. Trump is the man Democrats can never forget and who gets under their skin and irritates them like a tick so I am surprised you have forgotten him. Any further discussion of Trump is likely to be voluminous so please use "The US Hamster Wheel" and we can correct your apparent memory loss.

Ah so yesterday's man then! Pretty much like the dark, but meagre souls, who prance their last chance macabre on GBN.boing wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 7:29 pmTrump is the man who will not stand for President in the 2024 elections but whose endorsement will create the front runner. It used to be understood that wisdom and gravitas increased with age.
By the way, have you viewed Russel Brand's YouLube accounts, he has two channels, one is rather specialised and may not be of much interest but the other general topics channel is excellent. Very interesting and complex fellow.

Re: Great British News - GBN
Standard practice, take credit for good things, blame the previous administration for bad ones. Trump did it too, no doubt Obama and Bush and Clinton and... all did it as well.
It's a plausible approach for the first year, then the excuse for bad things wears thin.

What's happening with GB News?
Originally, the commercial advertisers occupied the screen between editorial items, then that space was replaced by 'music' (jingles) and now it is totally occupied by trails for the programmes.
How can they survive without the 'sponsors'?

Weren't the early adverts sort of borrowed and given air time without direct placement?

I'd much rather follow their reporting in preference to the Corporate Media, which is the more accurate term for what used to be known as MSM...

And nearly 18 months along they’re still there and even quoted on MSM by MSM, so perhaps the wise soothsayers in O-N who wished them ill might eat their words;
Go in at 6’ 45” to avoid the in-between features bits and then decide whether they’re still as lacking in influence as some here are hoping?
I hope the footage of the exalted Nigel won’t be too traumatic for some here, it it is that’s just tough, may I suggest you grow a pair or the female equivalent!

And enter the halls of delusion in the half light of lunacy, where illogic, lies and lame right wing punditry hold sway when uttered by a man that looks like a garroted frog as he babbles his nonsense!barkingmad wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 9:21 pmAnd nearly 18 months along they’re still there and even quoted on MSM by MSM, so perhaps the wise soothsayers in O-N who wished them ill might eat their words;

Re: Great British News - GBN
The big question one should be asking is why he's so popular. Is it because he's the only source of news and opinion with a particular bias, so he gets 100% of that audience, while the vastly greater non-watching audience is spread thinly around everyone else so their individual ranking is lower, or does he in fact reflect the majority? Or is it that the rest are such boring twats that people watch him as entertainment?

Re: Great British News - GBN
Given the shambolic nature of politics in the UK at the moment, I think many people believe he's one of the few people worth listening to. I wouldn't say he reflects the majority. but an increasing number of people in Britain feel that they're not being listened to, whereas Farage reflects what many people think and at least gives the illusion that he listens to what the general public is saying. Oh, and yes to the last sentence, as well

Re: Great British News - GBN
As much as I don't admire Farage, this should not be happening.... unless of course he has been washing dirty money or being supported by proscribed governments or organisations?

https://www.independent.co.uk/tv/news/n ... 66479.htmlNigel Farage has claimed that the "establishment" is trying to "force him out of the UK" by closing his bank accounts.
In a video, the GB News presenter says that he has been with the same banking group since 1980 but has recently received a phone call explaining his accounts are being closed.
The former UKIP leader goes on to describe how he went to seven other banks to find another personal and business account and has been refused at each one.
Mr Farage said that the closure of his bank accounts "may well fundamentally affect... whether I can stay living here in this country."
"This is serious political persecution", he wrote on Twitter.

Re: Great British News - GBN
The dangers of CBDC and the CCP Social Credit system have already been aired elsewhere in O-N but the few of our sheeple have chosen either to comment that they've read the posts or dared to post and counter the info.
So don't say you were not warned?

"The west should not copy any aspect of social credit," Hoffman says. "Often comparisons are drawn between private applications like Uber and its rating system for customers and drivers. While these private company systems are extremely problematic in my view, they are fundamentally different. The People’s Republic of China is an authoritarian country*, the Chinese Communist Party is responsible for gross human rights violations for decades— just look at the example of Xinjiang now. There is nothing any liberal democratic society should even think about copying in the social credit system."
*As demonstrated recently in western 'democracies' under the extraordinary measures implemented to combat the 'plague' and witness the plans to abrogate all self government to the whim of T Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus of the WHO, whose glowing CV follows after this little jewel;
"Critics say the cholera saga in Ethiopia is a sign that Dr. Tedros is comfortable with the secrecy of autocratic states – a tendency that may have led him to accept China’s earliest reports on the novel coronavirus outbreak in December and January without challenging its officials with tough questions".
The full report is here;
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/world/a ... s-adhanom/
So maybe some obvious support for Farage and protest against the behaviour of the bank might be in ALL our interests?!?!?!?
