Atom, don't people who have triumphed in the face of adversity, like these folks have, inspire you?

Paralympians, should be a source of inspiration to us all methinks!
Though you remain
Convinced
"To be alive
You must have somewhere
To go
Your destination remains
Elusive."

Gobbers.
When it comes to 'triumphing over adversity', then there are many who have set good examples- disabled and not.
Inspired me though? Not really. I don't look to others for inspiration.

Frankly, I find the Olympics a bore- if I was competing it would be exciting though.

I don't begrudge those taking part in the Parolympics, I hope they have fun. It just seems rather a betrayal of the superlative motive behind the normal Olympics- but then, I've always been a bit of an idealist.

To be fair, my interest in either is so low that apart from listening to some screaming commentator on Radio Four as some poor blighter wheels himself along a running track in a wheelchair, I've heard nothing else and seen nothing at all.

My only complaint is that it's another example where a big fuss is made of another minority. in this case disabled- but you can probably think of many other minority groups that are over represented on TV/ Radio/ The press etc.

I feel particularly sorry for English white working class males. A huge majority in their own Country and utterly ignored.

I wonder where it will end?
