Some experts have taken France’s exclusion from Aukus as proof that the country is simply not sufficiently trusted when it comes to sharing the military crown jewels of underwater nuclear propulsion technology.
If the ffrench had been invited would it have been:

FUKUSA(LL)?

The DG's of international governmental organisations are voted in by the organisations councils, themselves representing their member states. It is remarkable how rarely a French national is selected to be a DG. Simply not trusted to be impartial and neutral.

In a moment of foolishness, I bought a new Peugeot...bad decision!! It started falling apart after a fortnight...replaced it with a Proton that I kept for 12 years before passing it on to #1 son as his first car.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

I bought a high-mileage Peugeot that had been a rep's car - regularly serviced at no expense spared.
It was 'top of the line' with every desirable accessory and served me faultlessly for more than 100,000 miles over a dozen years.

I reasoned that the high mileage of the vehicle achieved by the previous operator (and probably executed on motorways) implied that the vehicle was reliable - as it proved to be.

My BiL buys new cars as a hobby. For some unfathomable reason he bought a Citroën Picasa and exchanged it after only 6 weeks. I think he bought a Mercedes GLS.

After a series of Golf GTIs (Mk1,Mk2,Mk2) I bought a Citroen BX19 GTI "for a change". It was that ! but it was also like Herpes, couldn't get rid of it. Eventually changed it for a BX TDI and got rid of that readily enough, it was when Diesel was cheaper than Petrol.
Back to Golfs a GTI badged 150horse diesel, until we came here.

I thought the French have nuclear submarines so need to share technology they already have.

As a arms supplier they are a fine lot - they sell to everyone. As an allied I agree with you.

Seem to remember years ago, reading of a senior British Aviation Official involved with the development of the Concord(e) who, when asked about his experiences in dealing with the Ffrench, was reported to have said that he never did learn the French word for 'Bollocks!'

After one spacecraft launch - built in France - it was discovered that sending command A, resulted in B happening, and sending command B resulted in A happening. French engineers were summoned from Toulouse, and one pulled out an old packet of Gauloise and reading notes scrawled on the back explained they had made a chance to the software just before it left the factory to be transported to Kourou. Asked if they understood the concept of a software or hardware freeze they just shrugged. Asked about documenting changes, same thing. "We thought it better this way.. "

Schoolchildren in large parts of France were ordered to again wear face masks in class, less than a month after being allowed to remove them, as the country tries to tamp down a surge in Covid cases. Primary schools in 40 of France’s 101 departments, which had been mask-free for weeks, are affected by the order, when the incidence rate rises above 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants over five consecutive days. Spains never been out of masks which explains the low infection rate. Simple, ain't it!
