Er, no.
OK I'll risk it. What brought on that particular sentiment at 12:25am on a Monday?

Whatever brought it on affected me as well. In short, 64 Conservative MPs voted against a HoL amendment to the Environment Act to restrict the freedom of ?English? water companies to dump untreated sewage into rivers and the sea.
I have asked my MP why he voted so. Would that bring on any sentiments for you?

Would be interesting to plot the constituencies in relation to pollution. How did Labour vote? It would seem to be a classic non-party political issue.

And where there are Tories there is arse!
And glad handing, brown paper envelopes, dodgy contracts, dubious tax arrangements and the foul smell of corruption!

Well Gob, I'm a Tory by nature, but the problem is Boris has forgotten what a Tory is.
I really despair at the way things are going in the UK, particularly the green lunacy. I think it's awful that the poorest people are paying 20% extra on their bills which frankly they could put to better use.

Don't get me wrong! There are some Tories who are perfectly fine people (even you Atom ) but I don't know what this Johnsonian cabal is all about. I think Britain will rue this period in its history.

What amazes me is how badly the opposition is doing. Just what does the government have to do to fall behind in the polls?TheGreenGoblin wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 3:59 pmAtomKraft wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 10:25 amWell Gob, I'm a Tory by nature, but the problem is Boris has forgotten what a Tory is.

boac.
All uk electric consumers are paying an extra 20%. It's a levy thats given to the windfarm people, and its why they are profitable.
Even the poorest have to pay it.

Re: Is England up the creek?
I see the exemption for hybrid cars entering London paying £15 a visit is due to disappear, followed by the exemption for electric cars in 2025, from which date all cars will be charged. At least the drivers wealthy enough with £50k plus to buy a Tesla are those that have no problem finding the cash. The government, such as it is, is also working on taxation plans for electric cars to replace lost revenue on ICU fuels.
Re: Is England up the creek?
News to me can you show me when and how that change happened? Did it affect fixed price contracts? Why areAK wrote:All uk electric consumers are paying an extra 20%.

Try googling UK electric green surcharge.
It's been going on for many years, and I really cannot remember when it started. Seems they are changing some of it from leccy to gas- maybe that just happened today.
I got this in a few seconds https://californianewstimes.com/uk-gree ... ls/541478/
But it's been going on for ages and ages. Pensioners, poor folk, everyone in fact, has been paying it for decades.
How else could these inefficient wind turbines ever get built without sunsidies?
Remember, it's all about the ROCs- want me to google that for you too?

Re: Is England up the creek?
Well yes, wind turbines are in the end driven by the sun.
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

Wind turbines are powered by the Sun, but they are built from subsidies.
A Chum of mine is a commissioning electrician on these big wind farms- they all know it's bollocks, but it is paying their wages!
If it was such a sensible and profitable deal, why the extra 20% on everyones bills? Have you any idea how much dough that is?
Edit to add, I see my typo now. You guys fixate on that,
