For me, the most interesting of those is the marker at Leningradsky Prospect 92. That's just a few hundred yards (metres) from the MiG factory. It appears to have hit an electrical distributors.
There are some expensive houses to the southeast of Moscow - handy for the exec terminal at Vnukovo :) , but generally they're dachas, and not lived in by the owners during the week, because it takes too long to get into Moscow from there. The really classy ones are to the northeast of the city.

Big strike in Melitopol today, in the SW corner of the town where the Russians comandeered a factory which has an adjacent rail container unloading siding.
Still smoking after several hours.

It remains impossible for me to make any guesses about where the counterattack(s) will go in.
All of the targets taken out so far - mainly command centres, ammo and fuel depots, troop barracks, artillery, and EW - will either advantage attacks in those areas OR reduce the ability of the Russians to pivot to resist an attack elsewhere.
Given the number of targets which would need to be hit to advantage the counterattacks initial breakthrough, we can either expect a blizzard of strikes at specific points on the front just before the counterattack(s) go in, or they may go for no strikes at all, and penetrate in identified weak areas, immediately preceded by SF actions.
Would welcome other views/thoughts.

putin has his sh!t-stirrers out again.
There were 11 police injured yesterday, 3 seriously (I've seen the video) with explosive devices hurled (probably modified fireworks).

I expect there will be further consequences of putin's rage in the coming days.

"The offensive will start soon" However it looks a bit like boiling frogs at the moment. The pressure seems to be ramping up in many places but no 'real indication' of the main thrust. Suppose there is no main thrust. Could they just keep ramping up the pressure until there is a general fall back with hot pursuit?

I know the Sinai was small, about 100 plus miles in 1973, but they could pull the same trick which basically collapsed half the front and created a turning manoeuvre?

So the Ukrainians will be operating two different Tanks then; The Abrams and the Leopard.

Question for those with the knowledge; How do they compare? ie, is one better than the other? :-\

And how do either compare to the Ivan`s Tanks?
Many years ago, when we were trying to convince the Greeks to buy Chally 2, the Greeks held a run-off in northern Greece (where it's bloody cold in the winter!), with all the competitors. The results, broadly, were: Russian and Ukrainian tanks were eliminated from the competition quite early. The report cited unreliability, particularly with the firing systems and the fact that they were uncomfortable (!)
The French offering, the Leclerc, did not fare well. The Greeks felt it was 'light' for a main battle tank and not sufficiently well protected and was soon eliminated. That left the Abrams, Chally 2, and the Leopard. As you would expect, all three of them performed to spec, but the Abrams was eliminated because of its huge fuel usage. The Greeks felt that the problems with refuelling logistics outweighed its other assets. That left the Chally 2 and the Leopard. There was a firing competition, which the Chally 2 won hands down, with the Leopard also getting lost on its way to the firing area. (All tanks were driven by Greeks trained by the manufacturers). On the way back, the Leopard got stuck in soft ground, and we were treated to the sight of the Chally 2 overtaking it and carrying on :)
The army recommended that the Chally 2 be the one to buy, and this was rubber-stamped by the MoD. Mr Simitis (the Greek PM at the time) told Mr Blair that the order was ours, and the champagne was put on ice. Simitis went on TV the following evening and announced that the Leopard had won the competition. Draw your own conclusions...
Interesting story indeed. Simitis also announced a potential acquisition of Eurofighters from the Germans. Fortunately it didn't happen. What you lovely colleagues apparently failed to mention is his German affiliation - he and his brother are educated in Germany so some preferences are hard to be forgotten.

Yes, we were aware of that. I think his brother actually had a responsible position in the German government. However, that was not the end of the story. The Defence Minister and the head of purchasing in the MoD (amongst others) were jailed for a number of years, once the Leopard deal had been signed!

Apologies for the thread drift, but I shall be fascinated to see how the Chally2 performs in Ukraine.

The NASA fire satellite map should be useful again from tomorrow onwards.

So, both sides now know it's only going to get drier from here on.
If the conditions are already suitable for where the Ukes have planned to attack, they can go from tonight onwards.

We can speculate that the final moves to the jump off points are due shortly, given the request to turn off CCTV cameras and the publicising of court warrants being issued for those who broke the rules recently.

And it's all gone quite with my usual correspondents again.

"Saturday night's all right for fighting" !?

Something going on at the mouth of the Dnipro delta, SW of Kherson.
Multiple fires both on the islands and on the Ukrainian (north side)

""The Russian military has destroyed Ukraine’s “last warship,” the Yury Olefirenko, in a high-precision airstrike, the Defense Ministry in Moscow said on Wednesday. ""

Example of Russian "high precision airstrike"

Well, damage to a Russian field quite some distance from the border post. :))

More than 5 times worse than my worst bomb.
And a really stupid attack direction.

Of course, "high precision airstrike" sounds so much better than "We threw hundreds of Iranian-made drones at Odesa, almost all of them getting shot down, until one of them was lucky enough to hit an unarmoured landing ship tied up at the dock."

Meanwhile, Russians are invading Russia again.

Just released by the Russia Freedom Legion is the destruction of a 240mm SP mortar and its ammo truck.

I have geolocated this to here, about a mile and a half from the border.

The drone is looking west.

Unusually, today, an E3 'Sentry' is on its way to the area as well as the RC135

FR24 and ADS-B. I now see a French AF A330 orbiting west of Moldova as well.

......and another RC135 heading that way over Slovakia at the mo.

Buildings on fire in Shebekino itself

I have geolocated this one here
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ulits ... ?entry=ttu

Not sure what it is, but it has more parking spaces around it than any residential block, and some pro-regime poster on the front, so probably a government building of some sort.

BOAC - TY

Zelenskyi used a French AF A330 to visit China, and is in Moldova for talks at the moment, so perhaps that's it.

Unconfirmed reports that the building on fire in Shebekino is the City Admin building, which makes sense.
Police station also on fire.

Finally, some official Russian comment...
