But then a logical person would have to say the Germans would have hit the pipeline further from home to avoid suspicion so until somebody has some real evidence, which I think is most unlikely, I'll relax.

Ukraine could always hold its own referendum in places it has re-captured, and declare that as the people have voted to be part of Ukraine, they consider the Russian claims to be invalid.

Although I guess that gives some credibility to what the Russians did.

Trying to extract any truth from the situation in Ukraine is fraught with potholes (mixed metaphor... ) and it does no harm to see opposing views, as long as they remain civil - please.

With respect, I don't think there's been any slanging. I've been technically accurate, and Pros hasn't insulted me either.
Stating things are "obvious", and continually attempting not just to present one viewpoint but to state it as fact (as Prospector does) is not an opinion, it's simply wrong, and I am going to counter that.
I am being extremely careful with my use of "reported that"s and "rumoured the other"s, and I'm responding point by point to his statements, he isn't doing likewise.
I shall not use the 'T' word again, which is what I think you are driving at, but it needs to be remembered that a secondary objective of his type is to suppress discussion in general.

Kreminna is under artillery assault this morning, and was during the night.
The usual posters are saying that the sources on both sides have gone quiet.
Ukraine appears to be pushing northeastwards from Lyman, probably to then sweep some units north to isolate Borova (on the Oskil river), and east with most units to isolate Kreminna.

So, he's tried a 3 day coup, a 227 day war, energy and food export restrictions, partial mobilization, and now annexation.
All of these have or are failing dismally.
He's running out of options.

Full mobilization will likely trigger mass civil disobedience.

I think that kinda leaves only:

Starting another war somewhere else (for which I don't think he has the forces)
Mass sabotage of Ukraine's supporters (e.g. cyber warfare, triggering market crashes, etc)
Use of WMD
Lose.

Let's hope he opts for the latter.

There are rumours of significant changes in the Kherson region.

Dudchany is 15 miles further on from Zolota Balka.

It has been anticipated for some time that the isolation and logistics of the Russians NW of the Dnipro would force them to shorten their lines significantly. A rout is not expected here as most of the Russian troops are regular paratroopers and the like, although there are reportedly a few sectors being held by much weaker militia. The Ukes have been trying to identify and attack these weaker units.

There are some quite unbelievable claims about Ukrainian advances today, both in Luhansk and Kherson oblasts.
It seems like the commentators, with a few titbits from contacts they have on or near the front lines, have been drinking a little too much during Sunday Lunch.
So, as a sacrifice to my journalistic integrity, and in selfless devotion to keeping you all well informed, I have gone for a boozy Sunday lunch myself in an attempt to make sense of it.
