Colonel-General Alexander Zhuravlyov, the head of the Western Military District, has just been fired by putin.
Amazing. Everyone around putin appears to be an incompetent idiot, yet he remains...

Kharkiv front
Road between Kreminna and Svatove reported cut by Uke forces. Russians are getting kicked on Route 66 The Ukes hold fire control over all the other 4 routes out of Svatove.
Kherson front
Dudchany reported by Russian bloggers to be occupied by the Ukes. Confirmation is expected soon.
Russians have lost another attack helicopter.
It's now dark in Ukraine. Rooskies don't like the dark. Can't even go for a pee on guard duty without getting shot

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Some Russian bloggers claiming they think Russia will be able to hold Dudchansk for 5-7 days
..an hour later, they retreated.
The next town is 10 miles up the road, Mylove ("No, not you Darling").
Taking Mylove would put the Ukes only 20 miles or so from the Nova Khakovka bridges and hydro station.
It would also put the major Russian support and attack helicopter base at Chaplynka in range of HIMARS.
The Russians would then have to move all their choppers back to Crimea, doubling their transit time to the front lines.
They lost another KA-52 attack helo today, as well as the earlier Su25.
The Ukes can continue this tactic of skipping inland to isolate the Russian-occupied towns along the river, forcing the Russians to retreat when this happens.
The Ukes rolling through open country does put them at risk of ambush by tanks and arty in prepared positions, and to air power.
However, the Russians aren't getting enough kills to even slow the advance much, and are vulnerable themselves as soon as they strike.
It's worth repeating that the troops around Kherson are Russian Paras and Marine Commandos. They aren't retreating unless they have to, and I've seen whole columns of Ukrainian IFVs shot up and destroyed.
However, the Ukes are clearly exploiting their advantages in intelligence, comms, and logistics to good effect.
Multiple reports, from both sides observers, that there are no signs of significant Russian troop movements either to a front from the rear areas, or between fronts.
THEY HAVE NO RESERVES !!!
This ties in with occasional intercepted phone messages from Russian conscriptees that they are being shoved up to the front lines with zero additional training, or even much equipment. One Russian guy was apparently captured on the front lines within 5 days of being conscripted 800 miles away from the front.
Bit early to call it for sure, but there's a serious possibility that putin has announced mobilization far too late, and even if they get all their remaining heavy equipment out of storage, it will be too late.

How can they have the fabled 20,000 men in Kherson region but no reserves. The fact is that it appears no reserves are being provided but surely it can't be lack of manpower. Lack of equipment? Transportation? Perhaps flooding the Inglitz river by blowing the dam was not such a good idea after all?

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Much happening on the Kherson front
I've seen video of Uke troops in both Davydiv Brid and Starosillia. Unable to geoconfirm from the footage, but I haven't seen a fake one published by the Ukes before.
The Russians seem to be attempting to fall back onto an E-W line Snihurivka-Mylove
It would also appear, according to Russian sources, that 'No reserves worth speaking of' would be more accurate than 'No Reserves'.
I would guess those Russian militias had been put into the second line to prepare stuff, and didn't (or couldn't, due to no supplies).
The road from Davydiv Brid to Berislav could prove crucial. If the Ukes can drive down there, it would leave the Russian front completely fragmented, and most of it effectively cut off from further supply.

Kharkiv front
video of Bohuslavka, on the Oskil, being liberated.
It seems likely the Russians have retreated back to Svatove and the Ukes now hold both sides of the Oskil river

The rate of progress against the 'mighty' Russian military is quite staggering. I am constantly braced for set-backs, which, I guess must be inevitable, but.........................

Ever seen a pile of 1,500,000 Russian uniforms? The reason for all the new Russian conscripts wandering around in tracksuits is because it appears one and a half million Russian uniforms have gone walkies.
Here's what it looks like

Guess which nation has just announced it doesn't recognise the Russian "referendums" in Ukraine?

Wonder what we'll hear from China in the next few days?

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Ukranian flags being raised by locals all along the Inhulets river settlements.
Velyka Oleksandrivka is the latest.
The Ukes armed forces may not be there yet, but the Russians have gone.
The Snihurivka-Mylove line I mentioned earlier is just a line on a tactical map. There's no defensive features, it's just open fields.
There's nothing the Russians could defend until they retreat back to the N-S stretch of the Inhulets, between Snihurivka and the outskirts of Kherson itself.
Unless the Ukes run out of logistical steam, or make some big mistakes, it's hard to see how an already battered, tired, unsupplied, retreating to unprepared positions in open fields, Russian army is going to stop them, even if they are elite forces.

I posted this a couple of days ago
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/1 ... -sabotage/
..and Kyiv is distributing Iodine pills to evacuation centres
Some of the options may be being readiedHe's running out of options.
Full mobilization will likely trigger mass civil disobedience.
I think that kinda leaves only:
Starting another war somewhere else (for which I don't think he has the forces)
Mass sabotage of Ukraine's supporters (e.g. cyber warfare, triggering market crashes, etc)
Use of WMD
Lose.
Let's hope he opts for the latter.

The black and red flag also raised is that of Anarcho-syndicalism. I hope that's a joke.
Here is the most famous Anarcho-syndicalist commune
Update: As you were!
Further research reveals it's the old Cossack battle flag. You can see them (rolled up) in the Zaporozhian Cossack picture by Ilya Repin I posted earlier!
Its origin is the colours you get when the Ukrainian blue-and-yellow is soaked in blood

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Right now Putin's best bet would be to transfer his bank accounts and take the first Russian government executive jet to somewhere that will take him in, NK and China spring to mind.
He has lost the opportunity to use battlefield nukes. Their use now would, first, destroy those areas he annexed and, second, kill many of his own best troops and third ensure a response from the West. He now has no logical reason to use nukes in combat and their use on areas away from the combat zone would be seen as pure spite and a war crime requiring a firm response.
The West can in no way be seen to be intimidated by the use of nuclear weapons because this would subject them to the same ploy by other players.
So, battlefield nukes being seen as pointless that leaves strategic nukes which would, of course, see the complete end of any Russian nation or Russian Empire. Whether Putin would accept this or whether his military would follow his instructions we don't know. The fact is he is finished as a credible national leader and his options now are to spend the rest of his, possibly short, life drinking mytai's by the pool or fiddle while Rome burns because the trajectory of battlefield events are beyond his control.

The Kherson Russian media outline stated today that it did not want to upset people by publishing bad news......and was therefore pausing their broadcasts
Ukrainian General staff has claimed 50 settlements liberated in Kherson region. This matches a scan of both the Ukrainian and Russian military bloggers' maps at the moment.
