There are reports of at least 3 other 'strange' fires/explosions in Russia today.

It is interesting to really know if these incidents are due to some actions by the Ukrainians or done by the Russians as a way to step up attacks against civilians.

“Careless Talk Cost Lives” was the old poster widely displayed in Blighty in the good old days of WW2.

But in this case it wasn’t some inebriated peasant mouthing off in a bar or in a ‘bus queue, but actually someone supposedly important who should have known when and how to keep his mouth shut;

“At the end of March, Biden caused a minor incident when he declared that Putin “cannot remain in power”. Now he’s asking the U.S. Congress for another $33 billion to support Ukraine, including $20 billion in military aid. That’s on top of $3 billion in military aid the U.S. has already sent since February.

To put the $23 billion number in perspective, it’s bigger than the annual military budget of Spain, Brazil or Turkey. In fact, only 15 countries in the entire world spend more than $23 billion a year on defence. Famously defence-minded Israel spends a ‘mere’ $24 billion.

As noted previously, there’s lots of evidence the U.S. actually wanted a war with Russia – notwithstanding the tendency of some commentators to dismiss this claim as ‘Russian propaganda’.

Indeed, Congressman Adam Schiff couldn’t have been much clearer when he stated on the floor of the U.S. Senate, “The United States aids Ukraine and her people so that we can fight Russia over there, and we don’t have to fight Russia here.” (That was in January of 2020 during Trump’s impeachment trial.)”

And if that wasn’t enough, the following faux pas came from another high-ranking military orifice;

‘However, Philip Breedlove – the former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO – has now gone one better, leaving even less room for ambiguity. During a recent podcast interview with the New York Times, he said, “I think we are in a proxy war with Russia. We are using the Ukrainians as our proxy forces.” ‘

Yet curiously, no MSM outlet has seen fit to comment on these two gaffes?

“This is noteworthy, given that in yesterday’s press conference, Biden rejected the claim NATO was engaged in a proxy war against Russia as “not true”. Who should we believe – the guy who led NATO operations in Europe for three years, or the guy who didn’t?”

Maybe tea but no biscuits for Messrs Schiff and Breedlove Schiff for stating the obvious concept of ‘proxy war’, much to the embarrassment of the US Administration?! [-X

Given all the happenings in that neck of the woods over the past 10 or so years, I would say that the summation that it is a proxy war, would be the must accurate summary of events. Especially given Adam Schiffs classic statement.

And why has the Biden family, and Viktoria Nuland. been so involved in the affairs pf Ukraine for a number of years.

It's really good to know who our friends are in the fog of war in Europe and how they are benefiting the rest of the World;

"It’s beginning to look like some bad actors are deliberately taking steps to guarantee a coming global food crisis. Every measure that the Biden Administration strategists have been making to “control energy inflation” is damaging the supply or inflating the price of natural gas, oil and coal to the global economy. This is having a huge impact on fertilizer prices and food production. That began well before Ukraine. Now reports are circulating that Biden’s people have intervened to block the freight rail shipping of fertilizer at the most critical time for spring planting. By this autumn the effects will be explosive.

With the crucial time for USA spring planting at its critical phase, CF Industries of Deerfield, Illinois, the largest US supplier of nitrogen fertilizers as well as a vital diesel engine additive, issued a press release stating that, “On Friday, April 8, 2022, Union Pacific informed CF Industries without advance notice that it was mandating certain shippers to reduce the volume of private cars on its railroad effective immediately.”

Union Pacific is one of only four major rail companies that together carry some 80% of all US agriculture rail freight. The CF company CEO, Tony Will stated, “The timing of this action by Union Pacific could not come at a worse time for farmers. Not only will fertilizer be delayed by these shipping restrictions, but additional fertilizer needed to complete spring applications may be unable to reach farmers at all. By placing this arbitrary restriction on just a handful of shippers, Union Pacific is jeopardizing farmers’ harvests and increasing the cost of food for consumers.” CF has made urgent appeals to the Biden Administration for remedy, so far with no positive action."

The full article URL is below, but it seems the suspected population reduction exercise is proceeding apace so better dig up that lawn and start planting fruit & veg before the pangs of hunger get too severe;

And lay in some sort of defensive armament to ward off the lowlifes who will always attempt to harvest your efforts in the wee small hours of darkness? X(

Edited to add, just in case you didn't get the message first time;

Slowly, bit by bit, the NATO propaganda crap is unravelling.

Now they've had to admit that the fictitious superpilot "Ghost of Kiev", he of 40 victories in one day, was a hoax.

Has the Russian propaganda crap about a 'Special Operation' in Ukraine unravelled yet?

As I recall, Ukraine is not in NATO so you can't blame NATO for that crap if crap it be.

My wife is not happy about the thought of her mother coming to visit us, she compared the idea with Putins antics in Ukraine. I had to remind her that to the best of my knowledge her mother was not in possession of nuclear weapons. Yet.

Once again the West and particularly the US is caught with stick in hand staring at the hornets’ nest of Eastern Europe and trying to deny they’d poked that nest until something predictably awful occurred;

https://www.globalresearch.ca/rand-corp ... ia/5678456

It all seems very familiar to the operation to draw the USSR into Afghanistan in 1979 in order to give the Soviets their own version of Vietnam to bleed their economy dry and hasten their downfall.

Will the Ukrainian fighters become the next mujahadeen/Taliban/Al Quaeda/Da’esh...? And look where that got us. ~X(

UP, from another forum:
What I was wondering is if a lot of the russian insurance companies are actually underwritten outside of russia and therefore any payout would not be able to be paid due to the sanctions or if russian insurance is normally underwritten in russia itself ?
Who underwrites insurance in Russia?

I thought the idea was that everyone is insured with everyone else?

Interesting titbit, I met a gentleman in Pyongyang who claimed to be from Lloyds checking the damage in an area which had been flooded.
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

One of my three namecos specialises in aviation risk(s).

I've been warned that the sector as a whole is going to take a hell of a beating consequential to the NATO war against Russia. Dozens of 'frames and engines are going to be written down as losses due to the sanctions against Russia. The aircraft can't be used because of their association, one way or another, with Russia. I suspect that there will be major lawsuits which will be expensively lost by the denizens of Lime Street to the financial delight of the denizens of The Temple. Buggah!

It's even worse for me because another of my three namecos partly specialises in Re-. That's re-insurance of various other policies. Most major insurance policies are divvyed up into re-insurance deals and my Re- nameco picks up some very large 'crumbs' off that table, so I expect it will take some hefty hits there too.

Hey, as they say in the military, if you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined.

This damned UKUSA/NATO/EU war against Russia is going to have all kinds of splashbacks against us all. We don't know the half of it yet. Like so many of Murrica's wars since 1945, this one is ill thought out and doesn't seem to have any exit strategy other than a vague hope of total victory. The military-industrial complex is in charge and that's that. Their gravy boat overfloweth.

Most of us, not only investors into the Fugly Building of Lime Street, are going to take a hell of a hit as a result of these three(*) wars against Russia. Millions will starve to death as a result of the reduction in food production and distribution, for example. Who cares?

UP, thank you, that's interesting, but is Lloyd's involved in Russian reinsurance with respect to factory fires or oil depots?
