Re: Value for money....
Is this for official residences, and will be left when they go?
If so, the rug and seating may be good value based on level of use and longevity.
The paintwork also, possibly.
The rest, however....

Shamelessly stolen from TOP, images of said decorations and furniture, together with the bill:Fox3WheresMyBanana wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 3:40 pmIs this for official residences, and will be left when they go?

Re: Value for money....
Thank you for the pics.
Interesting.
I would expect #10 has a large number of gifts from India, and therefore would need themed furnishings in which to display them.
I note there are no prices for the artwork, and therefore this was the purpose.
It's not to my taste, but seems to have been well done for what would be desired.
Without answers to my questions, and assuming the sofas and chair (not visible by the description) are staying, they do seem reasonable.
Given the paintwork also includes building work and installing (as I suspected it would), this part seems very reasonable.
..however, and as I suspected, many of the ancillary items like the lighting are ridiculously expensive. Since my sister was a glass and ceramics designer/manufacturer who has been featured on TV, I know there is a wealth of talent out there for doing these jobs, rather than buying extortionately priced tat from some of Carrie's pretentious mates' galleries - which is what I strongly suspect has happened.
I'm prepared to be enlightened though, if anyone knows different.

Re: Value for money....
The rounding up of many of the prices to the nearest £500 or £1,000 makes me suspect that they have all been inflated a fair bit. I think that the phrase "extortionately priced tat from some of Carrie's pretentious mates' galleries" seems to accurately describe a fair bit of that stuff. Apparently, Lulu Lytle, the interior designer whose company, Soane Britain, did this work is indeed a mate of Carrie Johnson. As someone on TOP has rather wittily remarked: "If that room is a reflection of Carrie's taste, no wonder she ended up with Boris....... "

Thought so!

Hurricane lights? Are there many hurricanes in a London? I’ve only been twice, for a few days. The climate didn’t seem like a hurricane may hit any time soon.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".

Really wish that I was sufficiently computer-savvy to be able to download and post a clip from the old Morecombe and Wise show where the comment would have been " Roobish!! "Oh come now Pinky, they do have taste,
