How about one year?
This would give time for an accuser to have some time to recover from the trauma of an actual rape (though why they would not report it immediately is beyond me) but prevent the 'remembered' incidents years later which was the concern mentioned in your initial piece.

I don't think it's quite as simple as setting a time limit, desirable as that may be. Particularly for younger victims, it may be difficult or impossible to report at the time, especially if they are in a position where they have no support - eg rape within the family, or a mother who refuses to believe, are who says "don't talk about it, you'll just bring shame on us." Below what age is someone a "younger" victim? I've no idea, but I'd reckon it's above the teens. Also, I think a one year limit may be too short, but I have no expertise.

I wonder what proportion of rapes take place within the family circle? Pretty horrific.
I know of a colleague who coerced his daughters into sex by telling them "daddy won't love you any more if you don't. " Apalling.
