Tony Draper used to claim that the smell of a new puppy was the best smell in the World.

We have a gap under the fence used by the hedgehog. I found a hole in the wire but didn't the cause. I secured the hole and set up a camera. Sure enough the hedgehog dashed through. Next day I saw the cat trying to get through. It eventually went around and came to the hole our side when it stood on its hind legs.

However today, in broad daylight it again tried to get through the sealed up hole. What was funny though was our terrier was nose to nose through the wire and the cat wasn't bothered.

Is the webcam on the web?

I think your Leonbergers are just gorgeous. I'd never heard of them before you brought them to our attention.

I've already got GD3 in preparation for the day that Alpha Guard Dog has to make that fateful visit to the vet, but I need to think ahead for when House Dog is ready for the great Gratuity in the sky. When this travel restriction stuff is over, I think I'll look into availability of Leonberger pups hereabouts.

Do Leonbergers drool?
I know of two locals who each have a St Bernard, and they admit to redecorating the lower half of their interior walls on a regular basis due to 'head shaking'.

Leonbergers are a non-drooling breed. They make up for it because their coats can hold an amazing amount of water and they run into the house soaking wet and shake. They also drink in a messy fashion and can flood the floor around the water bowl with a trail leading away because they seem to fill their mouths with water before walking away from the bowl.

Our outdoor puppy area is adjacent to a large glass door. I was considering cleaning the glass before we have prospective buyers in, but decided that I was going to leave it as-is to be an example of what to expect. Muddy paw prints at 5-6ft off the ground...

I see the link has already been posted, thanks Wodrick.

Leos are definitely not guard dogs in the traditional sense, in as much as they' have a calm temperament, but that doesn't stop them barking and getting excited and any dog that size is going to be a deterrent, although they excel at being indoor furry companions. They are oversized lap dogs, they shed a lot of fur and can be quite destructive as puppies. We still have gouges in the walls and remodelled furniture from ours.

If you want one, start looking now because they're an uncommon breed and there may well be a waiting list at the breeders. We had to wait a year for our first (who we got when living in the UK), and some people have been on our waiting list for over a year.

I will note that it's going to empty out for an hour shortly, they're going outside. I might have to figure out a way to get outdoor pictures too, although that may be a project for the next litter.

I'm afraid we've been doing silly things again. Now owned by a Maine Coon kitten.

Sharon and Sunstone, a few weeks old, a kitten deserted by his mother. Sharon lost Moonstone to cancer last week, fifteen years old. Then Sunstone turned up....

How old is the kitten, any idea? We once acquired one at 3 weeks old abandoned by his mother. Tesla adopted him.

No idea of age but must be three or four weeks, at most. It's living with very experienced cat people, people to whom lost or sick cats find their own way for healing. They also have hedgehogs; and pigeons in a loft. Nice folk.

Sunstone is currently in quarantine for three weeks until he has had his vaccinations. Until then he remains separated from his new big brother Leon, who sits outside the cage and miouws to him in the hope he will soon learn to speak.
