Castration

#1 Post by OFSO »

A friendly ginger and white street (forest) cat visits us each day for food. He very frequently gets some dreadful wounds on head and neck so is obviously fighting. Next week I'll try catching him and off to the vets for deballing. See if that helps.

Her indoors is highly involved in this type of work. She finds and traps missing cats for “living”. There is a huge TNR, (trap, neuter, release), program here for stray cats. Most wayward cats are those who still have all their “tackle”.

I am traveling for a few days but will get some “trapping” advice for you.

I usually leave the cage out where the cats can see it and get used to it. Then come up behind the cat while feeding, grab it with two hands, swing round and stuff it in the cage.

Booked for 10:30 tomorrow. No food after 06:30 so will have to lure him in cage before then and he'll have to sit and wait. Collection late afternoon. Will have to keep him in house until fit to survive on the street.

I have a cat trap from when we lived in the country. Chicken seems to be good bait. As well as cats, I've caught magpies & small dogs.

We once had a musical cat that could play the piano. Unfortunately, it played very softly, so we had to have it orchestrated.

Hat, coat, door.
