Well I thought I was winning. Myf is happy to get in the back of the car when I am sitting there offering her treats, but when she suspects we are going driving somewhere she fights like mad not to get in the car. When I try to force her in she starts trembling with fear as if something really bad is going to happen.

Come the end of this week we have a really long drive ahead, like all up eleven hours. Might give some consideration to sedating her. Although once we take off she seems to settle down and sleeps on the back seat. Just need a quick acting short term sedative that will allow me to get her in the car and tie her leash to a door handle to restrain her, and take off.

Will be taking breaks at intervals, taking her food and water bowl, and will make sure that whenever she is out she is on her leash.

PS. Little does she know how close she is to going back to the pound. Got enough drama in my life right now without the dog playing up.

Alison, try a calming treatment. Google dog calming, lots of hits.
