Turbulence on Air Canada flight from China injures 21

#1 Post by Alisoncc » Thu Dec 31, 2015 6:16 am

Beeb reporting pretty severe turbulence on Air Canada flight from Shanghai to Toronto. The flight was diverted to Calgary after the turbulence hit. Wonder if this is a sign of things to come with the strongest El Nino weather pattern ever being reported by NASA, with a lot of time to run before it settles.

We may have to finish up with the belts sign on all the time and 'unbuckle at your own risk'.

The girl sitting next to me, she was sleeping and she just fly up [to the ceiling]

Too many people ignore the advice to keep seat belts on at all times. This might be a bit of encouragement.

Don't understand the mentality. Cabin crew or pax going to the loo or sitting at the bar on the A380 or having a shower, fair enough, but at least cattle class should be strapped down.

I fail to understand why people won't sit with their seat belts fastened. They don't have to be tight, just to offer some restraint in the event of a sudden drop.
"I'll put it on when we get some turbulence" they will say. Muppets.
