I wonder if they have something like a C-130 gunship? That might explain the imagery and the accuracy of the shooting.

- stuart, I wonder if this sort of thread is too vulnerable to 'disintegration' as replies are posted to different events? It is also vulnerable to duplication (as I 'ably' demonstrated by not looking around before adding the TLV incident :(( )

Yes - you can almost smell the cordite :-bd

Only one small problem with that Boac; Cordite as a bullet propellant has not been used for many years. These days it is all nitro cellulose based.

Cordite being used as 'gunpowder' has been obsolete for over 50 years, and to the best of my knowledge has not been loaded in any pistol or rifle cartridge since the early 60's.

Do you know when the RAF's 30mm rounds were produced......................? We were loosing off 'time expired' rounds in Belize in the late 70's.

Unfortunately not, Boac, but I have seen a few 20mm Hispano rounds (got a few actually) from WW11 and they definitely were not Cordite loads.

I also have a bit of a cartridge collection, and part of it is comprised of WW11 cartridges of various types, calibres etc and the only cordite loads are .303 British for the SMLE rifles.

I do have some .303 machine gun ammo and it is all nitro cellulose loaded.

Very good point BOAC, I'll post events as a new thread in future.
it's good to be bad.
