Probably thinking more about his career than flying. I've had an accident with a Wg Cdr and an incident with a Gp Capt with an AVM in the jump seat. Both pilot error. In both cases I warned them. Had a Sqn boss once who couldn't fly. However one of my mates made AVM and he was an exceptional driver. One of the youngest ever VC10 captains. He once had a Gp Capt dentist in the jump seat. Visitor to the flight deck said he assumed that the Gp Capt would take over for the landing.

More like thinking about how to bring an early end to his career? I think he was eventually re-roled as Nav.

Suffice it to say, it was not me that pushed down.

A go around, which we did, rectified the situation.

Only ever had one go around Royal. This one. The weather was horrendous. That's Ginge. Should have popped him out of the DV window and saved us all a lot of grief.

Good news. Whoever the NIgel/lla was that did it, he/she reminds me of the story of the Mississippi steamboat Captain bragging to a lady bridge visitor about how he knew every sandbank in the river, at which point the boat ran gently aground.

"See", he said, " there's one now".

Yes, he (it was a he) knew there was a blue roofed building on the approach to 25 at Kirwall.

Yes, we were allowed to hold level until reachng the VOR but I (loudly) suggested we would go around immediately and try again.

I think I decided to divert to Aberdeen after a second aproach.

He eventually became a 737 captain, I went back to the DC10.
